Oh, if anyone comes across any pictures from the day (namely my car) then chuck the link up biggrin
Check my Flickr link further up the thread, you may be on there. If not, I couldn't put all the photos up, so letme know your car by email and I can send you a picture of it if I have it.

Had a quick look on my phone and couldn't see one, I only got out on track after about 3pm so if you had finished taking pics then you won't have any smile

Cracking day.

The Westie ran faultlessly all day (apart from a slight cone moment on turn 2...) But I need more power. Only 115mph on the straight!

115 doesn't sound too bad to me, in the Tuscan I just about hit 140mph (roof off, rear screen out and the windows down!) ... according to the hopelessly inaccurate speedo, that with whatever TVRs rating of 380 bhp actually is in reality!

could cost huge to get a few extra MPH?

Great day, shame about the unreliable car...
it would have been a lot more reliable on Gate 12 biggrin
Well the one advantage of Gate 7 was the mate on hand who fixed it for me! laugh

On my fastest run I hit 130 on the back straight but that was leaving it right to the last second for braking! biggrin

I was the guy in the purple shirt with the black 350z biggrin

Apologies, but had left by then. Had to get back to the OH and my daughter. Was in the bad books as was supposed to be home earlier! At least I got to see the Vulcan fly past though before I left.

you couldn't have been pushing hard enough through the chicane, my speedview app on my phone recorded 139mph as the max speed on the day, I was struggling by the end of the run the runs though as my clutch was cooked and just kept slipping even in 5th down the back straight!

FWIW, I've had an indicated 155mph down the back straight in my Chimaera 450, before the bonnet popped open. yikes That was before they put the chicane in at the end. I think they do VMAX there, and speeds over 200mph are not uncommon. At the last ASDA I did, a few years ago, someone in a twin turbo Viper was doing 200 mph runs. There must have been a 4 hour queue to ride in that...

Couldn't flatline it - last year I buckled one of the alloys by hoping over the kerbs a bit too much! So was a bit slow through the chicane. Another Tuscan with the 4.3 upgrade (and roof up) was getting 148mph on the straight, so wasn't too displeased with 140!

However - doesn't really matter so much, my passengers seemed to love the experience, and I didn't kill my car - so that made it a good result all round!

I wasn't happy with the way my Cobra was running and the puffs of oil smoke from the right exhaust gave some cause for concern. I pulled the rocker covers off today and discovered that the end of one of the rocker shafts, complete with a rocker arm had snapped clean off. So at best, I was running on only seven cylinders. frown

yes but we could have done with you and your car - don't feel bad you need your many holidays - you were starting to look old and tired after your 'ASDA day' tongue out

lads don't worry about top speeds indicated or otherwise

it's all about enjoyment not mph

for the willy-wavers in my experince (excluding track machines) the Nissan GTRs are the fastest and quickiest, along with an estate AMG and another car that's so quick it can't last much of the day - but there were 'slower' cars that felt faster

Thanks, they all seemed to have a great time, though some of them cam off looking a little grey around the gills!!

One little lad said just before we set off " don't go to mad I have just eaten 3 bags of green sweets!!"

I told him to hold his hand up if he felt sick, but he did not complain for the whole lap!!
