Thankyou to all who drove their cars, helped and especially all who donated to come out with us! Great result Max. I think you and your/Graham's offsprings did all the hard work, whilst the rest of us had the fun! See you at the NEC in November. Andy

What a great show!
I was working all weekend on the Amari stand so got to meet and talk to loads of interesting people.
Luckily we had motorsport passes so my highlight of the weekend was spending a good hour in the paddock today when they kicked the public out, spent about 30 mins just drinking in the details on Nick Mason's GTR & Chris's F40, took hundreds of photos!
Other highlights were the Pikes Peak 405, the Zonda F, getting my photo took with the child catcher and of course the Vulcan.

Thankyou to all who drove their cars, helped and especially all who donated to come out with us! Over £10k with gift aid ;-) Was an amazing weekend. We had some great cars, including a few new special ones, doing rides and thanks to the generosity of the public we did our best total for a Cholmondeley event. Highlight was driving along the road in the Elise with Louise, who had paid for a ride, we were behind the Countach when the Vulcan flew what seemed 10 feet overhead. Just an amazing feeling and sight. As she said - its just doesn't get any better than this. Thanks to all the drivers and helpers, especially the kids. This ment I could drive the Elise for some rides, did 14 i think in total. Fantastic weekend cheers Max.

I went to this yesterday, good day out though a little pricey both in terms of ticket cost and all the food/drink etc inside the venue. Ticket price is excused a little once you drop off the third that goes straight to CiN, and if you want to see the bands etc which I wasn't all that interested in.
I'm a little uncertain whether it was better than CPoP, certainly different and if anything less of a car show than CPoP. Whether it was this that attracted more of the general public or the promotion on Radio 2 is obviously impossible to say. Also I must say I spend the weekend at CPoP (as I am usually on a classic car club stand) as opposed to a single day at Carfest as a normal visitor, and I should be comparing the first CPoP with this really, as it's got better each year for me.
Definite highlight for me was the Vulcan display, leaning against my car to take photos I could feel the vibration as he booted it, and it set a lot of car alarms off, which was nice. Good to read that Sporting Bears raised a lot, was walking past the Red Barrows display as they finished and they'd raised around £4k as well. I did wonder who was stonking up and down the A49 when I went along it to Malpas Steam Rally on the Saturday, I just thought it was people taking the opportunity to hoon along a nice sweeping A-road when it was very quiet (due to being closed 'except for access'), only realised it was the SBs when I got in.

My pals at the Red Barrows raised £1800 at CFS and £4100 at CFN, a total of £5900.
Fantastic effort by everyone concerned.

Nice pics Adam, I was disappointed that they chucked everyone out of the paddock for much of the day. Here's a few of mine, can't match your 'artiness' if that's a proper word. The originator of those silly "eyelashes" you see on Nissan Micras Hanomag (with One-77 in front) Chris Williams' water feature ... and toaster (with advance apologies for the bad focus) The aforementioned Red Barrows Some planes
