Mercedes-Benz World Sunday Service: 01/04/12

PH returns to an old favourite for another Brooklands-based Sunday Service in a couple of weeks time

Hot on the heels of the superb Silverstone Sunday Service yesterday, it's time to clear the diaries for the 1st April (no joke), as we return to MBW with capacity to welcome 600 PH cars.

As usual we will have an entry list using the PistonHeads calendar and will operate a 'no-name, no-entry' policy on the gate as you arrive. Gates will open at 09.00 and, while the PH element will officially close at 13.00, Mercedes-Benz World will remain open for the rest of the day, so you are welcome to leave cars in the PH area and spend the rest of the day at MBW if you so wish.

We have arranged a preferential rate for PH members on the AMG hot-laps, charged at £10 per person. Hot-laps can be purchased/will start from the middle section of the track and, due to being located away from the main building, rides will be sold on a cash-only basis. We will also be offering rides in the Gullwing and the 450SEL 6.9 at £10 per person along with an SLK55 at £15. If you want to take advantage of these rides please book in as soon as you arrive as they will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

For those of you who attend mainly for the breakfasts, we have some very good news, and we quote:

"Jody Scheckter's Laverstoke Park Farm is bringing The Laverstoke Farm Café to Mercedes-Benz world on 1st April for the PH Sunday Service. This is no April fool - the racing champion turned organic farmer has asked his team to come to the PistonHeads event and will cook a breakfast to remember.

Jody's team will be there bright and early with a menu that will bring a smile to the hungriest of drivers, including organic bacon and eggs, homemade Cumberland sausages, grilled organic black pudding on toast with fried eggs along with mugs of fresh coffee. The perfect start, middle or end to what will be a great day."

Now that is worth coming for in itself.

Thanks for Silverstone
Before we go we should also give a mention of thanks to Silverstone for having us at the 'Wing' last Sunday for the last PHSS - cheers for being such cracking hosts.

A big thank you, too, for all 700-or-so PHers who came along to brave the chilly Silverstone weather in a fantastic array of machiniery, most of which you can see displayed photographically in the Sunday Service thread here.

Best of all, since we were so well behaved, Silverstone want us back for another Sunday service later in the year!

Before that, though, see you all at M-B World...

Awesomesauce, my car is in the Silverstone pic with the yellow Griffith! Admittedly it's behind the Chim in the background so it's barely visible but I'm claiming it anyway.

Signed up for this one but might have to drop out later frown

Damn you PH!

Already got tickets for BTCC at Brands that day. That's two SS's in a row I've missed!

As a passenger? No problem. If they're driving they need their name of the list.

No name, no entry basically.
