Cool. Looking forward to it. thumbup

I'm going to pop out to Box Hill on Saturday, apparently they've resurfaced the hill, but left off the speed bumps until after the Olympics...

Congrats. Lots of birthdays this week...

Could there be a reason for a lot of car nuts being born at the end of May? If the condition is genetic, is there something that happens that makes car nuts get particularly fruity at the end of August???

Summer holiday babies...

Thank you for the birthday wishes.
Soon-to-be Mrs Cactussed and I should both be up for a ride around Richmond Park once we organise a suitable date.

What's the furthest north you city types can venture on a week day? Olly and I are just a bit too far out for mid-week drinkies....

Oh come on you fanny; we could easily make it Oxford St.
Marylebone High St at a push!

In all seriousness, geographical accessibility nags me constantly; was part of the reason for choosing the karting location, for example. I guess the biggest problem is transport; it's a drinky social rather than car meet because we all convene sans voitures.

Are weekend 'things' more or less desirable, Ferris?

We, if I may be so bold as to speak for several of us, are about an hour out of London (King's Cross) by train which isn't impossible.

Weekends better for sure. I'd have been at karting if a family thing hadn't coincided.

Zone 4. If you're paying for the cab home I'm happy to have a pint in zone 5.

I'm going to be out of action until I get the bike sorted. I had a lovely ride out to and up Box Hill. Then went through a massive hole to get one dented rim, one buckled wheel with a dented rim, and two punctures.

I got home after someone stopped and sold me an extra spare tube, since the old one were beyond repair. rage

(Box hill is smoooooooooooth now though...)

Right, as I now have somewhere to sleep in the middle of London (Or at least I've been told I have) can someone pick a pub where I can meet people from the internet? The only other people I know in London are a friend who is leaving the weekend before and relatives that I don't really like.

OK. We usually meet on a Thursday; firstly because Thursday is generally office drinkies night, but also because it fits with other stuff various attendees do during the week.

So, we could have it on the 20th, but we will lose a couple of people who are considerably more interesting than me (which is everyone).

On the other hand, making these things accessible to those people who go out of their way to come along has to be worthwhile - so let's run with it thumbup

I'm not going out of my way to come it just happens I have something to do on Tuesday in Milton Keynes and Thursday in London so I've managed to blag a free Wednesday to potter around London before heading home from MK on Thursday evening.

I won't be too offended if people can't make it, unless someone want to make me a moderator evil

18th August, Thread BBQ in Berkhamsted. It's on the FB page, but for those who (sensibly) avoid BookFace stick your name down here if you can make it.
