Forgot to add that it was the first time I've seen a helicopter fly upside down smile Loved the start of the commentary when it looked like the helicopter wasn't coming back :-)
Hope you enjoyed it, I know we all did. Its not often we get a chance to engage so directly with the public. Regards the commentary I was in 'no cuff, too tough' mode. It would have been so much easier with a heads up and a script lol

I'm glad somebody told the commentator that 'the late, great Nelson Piquet' was not actually late. He's very much still alive.

hehe

I was stood about 5 metres from you when you did the PA, I thought you did a great job. I had no idea you were blagging it! We also got to meet you and Lt Thompson a few hours earlier, when you kindly let my kids jump all over your helicopter, and then gave them saluting lessons...

We enjoyed the day very much, a superb venue and something for everyone I thought. The PA/commentator need sorting out, as there were too few PA speakers (or too quiet) and you could barely hear the announcements. I was also frantically googling the passing of 'the late, Great Nelson Piquet'.....

Wow what a great photo Dominic,do you mind if you could email me a copy for Navy News and the RN PR team? Being just down the road at Yeovilton we really wanted to help with this years event, 15 mins by Lynx and no traffic helps a lot smile Also glad my blagging was not that obvious lol.

If you liked the up close aspect then you should get yourself to our International Air Day next year as it goes a little something like this :-)

No, I flew in but as my wife and son were there I wanted to stay behind and spend some time with them, the wife parked in the PH car park and we left around 1730. Missed most of the day but was worth it to get the chance to show you all the helo and talk about what we do.

I would like to send a HUGE thank you to all those that braved the potentially terrible weather this Sunday to attend my 4th Classic and Supercar day. Who could of guessed suncream was the order of the day!

As a passionate follower of pistonheads I really love to hear all your feed back, good and bad, as it really helps us to tailor the event and to try and improve it year on year so please keep your comments coming and hopefully 2013 will be bigger and better than ever.

Thank you all again....

bow

I've just spent 7 hours catching up on all the missed phone calls, text messages, emails, facebook messages, tweets and so on, as well as reading through as much of the local, national and indeed international media generated from the weekend. It has been frankly overwhelming and once again I feel privileged to have been able to orchestrate the supercars at Wilton House.

I have a long list of people to thank, but there are two equally important groups that need public recognition: the drivers of the supercars, who gave up their time at their expense to be a part of it all, and the thousands upon thousands of people who came along to see us. The weather predictions were atrocious, the Olympics were at their height, and still it seems we'll be giving a bigger cheque than ever before to the Stars Appeal charity because of their enthusiasm and commitment. I could barely doff my cap and harder.

bow

I want to thank the sponsors, who brought so much passion, let alone content, to the show - EFG, McLaren, Graham London, Bugatti, Hackett, Aston Martin, QuickSilver Exhaust Systems, and of course our valuable media partner: Pistonheads.com, where this all began. I hope we've done you all justice!

And to William Herbert, 18th Earl of Pembroke, 15th Earl of Montgomery, wearer of poncey driving gloves - here's to next year.... MATE!

As a local Salisbury resident, I have to say this is without a doubt the BIGGEST event on the social calender!

I attended the 1st event 4 years ago & was blown away by the event, I have missed the last 2 years due to family & work commitments so this year come \hell or high water I was going to attend!!

I have got to say the way the event has grown is beyond comprehension! that 1st year we had about 3 row of cars on the lawn & that was impressive enough, but when you see what it has grown into now it is a petrolheads wet dream & to think of all that money going to our local charity really takes your breath away!!

Congrats to Jay & The Earl for such an amazing day!! clap

PS if you can get next years date confirmed nice & early it would be appreciated as I want to be there again!! bounce

One of my fave shots from the day.....
