Just the Skoda hogging the background!

Great event guys, awesome metal on show. I had absolutely no idea the 458 was so comfortable (checks down back of sofa for change).

Anyone else see the Royal Nail van northbound on the m1 about half two?

Had my annual hearing test at work today with our paranoid occupational health lady. She took a phone call and held the handset about 5 inches away from her ear! and afterwards I got asked the questionnaire questions, "have you watched any live motorsport in the last 24hours", I replied "YES". She then asked "What sort of motorsport was it and how close were you" and I replied "Well I was stood behind a Ferrari 599XX which was being revved for about 5minutes, then watched some F1 cars with no ear protection from about 20meters away!!". She looked horribly disappointed with me!

Still passed with flying colours fortunately!!

Fantastic SS and many thanks to the PH team and Ferrari for organising it all and letting us in.

And don't worry Mr Garlick, I know you tried to get yourself run over by me but I'm far too nice... (until I've got the tickets)

The enormous swathe of PHers cars was a sight to see, I don't know how many cars that weren't PHers were there but I'm sure we outnumbered them easily - I bet the food and drink vans wondered where all the people had come from!!

It looks like the total was £2,400, so a big thanks to all who dug deep, it really is much appreciated.

The online donations page, for those who've asked is - http://mydonate.bt.com/charities/missionmotorsport

Good to see a decent amount was raised - and I'm surprised you managed to count my tiny bag of loose change in 24 hours smile

Are you the same lot that were featured on Top Gear? (I think it was TG) With an off road prepped landy?

Glad you spotted your Skoda, my E30 325 made it on the picture too, although thats not surprising as the Esprit is my mate's, but as ever mine's in the back ground when the Lotus comes out. At least the young guy at the gate collecting donations asked if mine was an original Sport which was nice.

Thanks to all concerned regarding the day, it was great especially seeing the XX cars and being able to sit in and admire the 458 Italia, although the highlight for me was the F40 in the paddock, just a shame I missed the LM version.

throughly enjoyed my day

Really nice to see the 599XX series again after id previously seen them pounding round the ring a few years ago

One thing I did notice and that really annoyed me was people I presume to be members of the 'Joe Public" having an insistence on touching Very expensive Cars most of which were worth Upwards of £500K. Whilst admiring the Black Enzo i must have counted at least 5 people having a prod and a poke on the bodywork, numerous people unaware that they were getting very close with metal vips to the paintwork and one woman who decided to strike a pose whilst sitting on the rear Quarter!!

Was a staggered at how inconsiderate people can be around other peoples pride and joys!

sadly, you're spot on

the price level is irrelevant : ph meet = take the p&j, public meet = take the daily

Only just had time to read through all the SS threads. No peace for the wicked as they say.

Really good SS. clap
Well done to all, some cracking Ferraris - all close up and only out of reach ...moneywise!
You really should have PH stand selling goodies like PH Smiley stickers, t-shirts etc at SS.

Have trawled all the threads. Seems nobody wanted to take pics of the PH MINIs then? Mind you, only about half a doz in total there and only one 211 bhp Factory JCW (ours!). A lot of PHs do seem to hate MINIs... well, we love 'em! We love cars... all cars (well, apart from the Prius and G-Wiz hehe).
Perhaps you should arrange another SS at Cowley!

I'll partly take that back... there is 'one' of the blue MINI. But that's all I can find.

Just had a thought, we must be on the video - we were stopped a good while doing our bit, filling the donation shaker tin (expected a 'bucket' for donations) as we had a bagful of coins, which obviously took a while to get in that narrow tin slot.

Yep, 12 mins in - how can anyone miss a white JCW with red roof and mirrors?

Just to prove we were there if nothing else tongue outsmile

Not the Silver V8 Vantage S as we were talking to the Start/Finish straight..? st the bed that was fantastic.
That exact one - sounds like i was startled by the ravaging noise and mistook it's exact model biggrin
Paul sniffed the air and told me it was a Cerbera, I turned around and pointed at the Aston with people standing behind it whooping. hehe
This is the one! cloud9

Heard from a lady at work (who is a Marshall at Silverstone) that the F40 LM was having gearbox troubles which is why it pulled out.

I came back to the car park to find a random kid sat in my car. Bit rude without asking IMO.

I left the roof on my TVR for exactly that reason (and the very slight risk of rain)

Certainly seemed it when they got it back to the pits, had it up on the air jack thingy, turned over and going through the gears, then took the seat out to gain access to the engine.
