I left the roof on my TVR for exactly that reason (and the very slight risk of rain)
I saw two well-dressed fellows rapping the roof of a parked FF (as in privately owned, not display) with their knuckles. Did not appear to be their car :-(

...One thing I did notice and that really annoyed me was people I presume to be members of the 'Joe Public" having an insistence on touching Very expensive Cars most of which were worth Upwards of £500K. Whilst admiring the Black Enzo i must have counted at least 5 people having a prod and a poke on the bodywork, numerous people unaware that they were getting very close with metal vips to the paintwork and one woman who decided to strike a pose whilst sitting on the rear Quarter!!

Was a staggered at how inconsiderate people can be around other peoples pride and joys!
sadly, you're spot on

the price level is irrelevant : ph meet = take the p&j, public meet = take the daily
I must have been right next to you, or there were multiple women striking poses on the rear quarter. I was certainly quite surprised how "hands-on" people were with the cars.

I get told I'm uptight when I comment on that. My kids will be told "its not yours, dont touch"

I've just had a small dent removed from my bonnet which I think was from someone plonking their arse on there. Love to share my car, but ffs show some respect! My car is nothing compared to the Enzos etc, but if the owner get home and find zip scratched and little dents, they'll, rightly, stop showing them to us.

Slightly different, but I was surprised there were Ferrari's for people to climb all over. I wonder if they do that every year? My non-car mate commented that they'd "all need a bloody good polish after the weekend"

Westfield without doors or roof.

Which makes it ok, obviously.

I think my parents would have strung me up if I'd have done that as a kid.

Thanks to all the team for the FREE event.

Hope I didnt blow your ears out garlick.

Just had a quick scan through this thread, Charity, well I gave £20.

I find it amazing that people on here say WELL youve got an expensive car so why dont you pay more.

This Really F*cks me off.
Some people can afford it and some cant
Some people dont like giving to charity, there is nothing wrong with that.
So Here is my 2p worth

Shall I leave my car at home and not come to any events.
I can then give this to charity

£75 Hotel
£55 Meal
£225 Fuel
£70 on picnic for us and friends
£20 on Bacardi for VIANT
£running costs, stone chips and mileage. Who knows.

Normally a charity event. Just like dads day out, costs the RICH people with supercars at least a thousand quid to do.

so if we put that money to charity will these people be happier. And keep the cars in the garage.

I thought £20 was reasonable.

And the amount raised was very good. WELL DONE ALL

It was a great day out and thank you once again to the PH team and ferrari.
Due to it being a public event, you will always get non owners there who wont show the respect a PH member would towards the cars. Saddly it wasnt just kids who were doing it and it made me sick how some parents were letting their children walk on the nice leather seats of the ferraris in the indoor display. As i was waiting to sit in a FF a couple were sitting in it with their children and how the little boy didnt manage to break anything is a mystery to me. Was close to saying something and maybe should have

Regarding charity donations. People give what they can or have at the time. I am sure that many of us already give to other charities so who are we to judge what people give on the day. It seems like it has all been blown out of proportion and we should leave it at that as a sizeable amount was collected.

I dont however envy the PH team as it is going to be very hard to topmthis event. Any chance we could have an internal parking area for our SS at Le Mans next year!!! No pressure..... smile

Thanks again guys

Stops anyone that really loves their car bringing it to a public event.

Why people think its ok to do is beyond me.

What suprises me more is the parents attitude with kids, at a car event once came back to a reasonably old kid actually sitting on the bonnet up by the windscreen of my Gallardo, I then got a mouthful of abuse from the parent when politely asked the parent to remove them as it may cause damage, as if it were a totally unreasonably request!

Old boys picking at the 3m film to see if it comes away annoys me as well, why do it!

Unbelievable amount of disrespecful people out there.

I think Jaykaybi has got it right with his events, roped off so people can get near but not touch, its the only way to avoid this sort of thing.

Ropping off cars will mean that i cant get near the cars so that is a no no. Arming PH representatives with tazzers sounds like a better idea.

You should have asked the abusive father if you could go to his house and do some colouring in on his flat screen tv.....

Thought it was an awesome day and would have definitely paid money for it! Excellent cars there took over 500 photos.

Will add in a comment about people lounging over cars etc. One woman told her kid to open the door of a certain fxx and get in confused really?
