Great little cars. Never drove one, but I drove the similar Renault 9 Turbo and it was a hoot! Felt like a rocketship at the time.

Yeah same engine as the 9 turbo but more BHP/ton. These newer hatches arent much quicker standard but the feeling of being in a bean can makes the 5 alot more fun!

According to howmanyleft.co.uk there are still 528 licensed 5 GT Turbos and a whopping 842 on SORN! A lot of project cars hiding in garages.

That's more than I expected.

Yeah that seems to be thing going round on the forums at the moment. A large proportion of that 842 is probably beyond repair though

We had a great day out the star for me was the dirty F40 out of its cage (best sound of the day?) and the Avendator thanks for all the pics and comments on the "Z" probably the lowest HP of the day! i will submit some kind of story sometime, search honda retro custom z600 for those interested, once again thanks to all PH members and Mercedes (shame about the gp) for a great day.

I've just been reading this thread with interest. No idea how I've not known about this meet before. Looks fun One question though; I notice some of you have posted about going around the track. So is it possible to pay for laps here or do you pay for laps in 'in house' cars or what?
