RE: PistonHeads Sunday Service: 16/12/12
Discussion
Had a nice - if careful, what with sun glare and damp roads - run down, and enjoyed the gathering.
The marshalling was a bit strange, though; when we arrived ~10am, everyone was being shoved straight in the car park to the right of the entrance, even though there was quite a bit of space on the grid and the paddocks were only 2/3 full if that.

I know I shouldn't be overly surprised but we didn't manage to get down there til about 11.30 (trying to get 2 children out of the house) and found only about 15 cars left in the place. There were only 2 left parked on the track and the sheds were mostly empty. I'm pretty sure I even saw Garlick disappearing at about 11.45
For an event that is supposed to go on til 13.00 I was disappointed that not more people stayed for longer. I have come later in the morning to other Sunday Service events and there has always been many many more cars left to see. This seemed to be more like the Breakfast Clubs in that if you're not there at 9am on the dot then there's no point in going.
Oh well, my new daughters first Goodwood anyway at only 5 days old

Well said! My brother and I were also in the Hedge End run, both with the roofs down!
A really good run down.
Ps. My girlfriend loves your SLK!
Thanks Dan,A really good run down.

I was snug and warm with the roof up until I saw you topless at Hedge End, so I thought I'd give it a try too, no regrets, more fun, so; Thank You.

I was also a bit surprised how early everyone seemed to leave, having driven over 3 hours to get there, expected it to go on a bit longer. Still a great 'day' though, great cars and couldn't have asked for better weather for the time of year. For an event that is supposed to go on til 13.00 I was disappointed that not more people stayed for longer. People did seem to leave unusually early for this one. Normally good stuff around until at least 12... Perhaps it's because people had Christmas plans on the same day??Thanks PH for organising it.
