What is "GBC" please? I did feel slightly put-out to have driven so far to be asked to park a reasonably presentable AMG around the back with the grass-mowers.
I always say the GBCs are free and frankly there's a much decent stuff parked in the car parks as on the track. Some people take it as a dent to their pride not be on the grid but it shouldn't be seen like that.Apologies, just noticed all the questions...OK so
- Parking will definitely be allocated as you arrive, no idea on grid capacity (not many) but if you aren't on there you be (with the majority of us) in the paddock which is far from shabby! No need to rush for the circuit IMO.
- We are only using the paddock and circuit, no fields or grass. All cars will be on tarmac within the circuit boundary so you won't have to walk for miles.
- Food will be served from the GW catering units/ vans only.
- As it stands there will be no 'public' parking area, just the paddock and circuit for those on the PH list. We'll work to the normal PHSS format, not how they run the GBC, so we remind you of the 'no name, no space' rule
Hopefully it'll be a little easier than the last time I went to Goodwood! I left my house at 6am and there was a light dusting of snow but by the time I had reached Guildford it had settled pretty well. We saw cars spinning off the road, cars upside-down in ditches, cars stuffed in hedges and a jack-knifed lorry sliding backwards down the A3 collected every car behind it. I just made it past the cab as it began to slide backwards!
Complete carnage but well worth the drive.

Yep, I think this happened in our convoy on my last Goodwood PHSS....Complete carnage but well worth the drive.
This was one of Goodwood's own events but I'm going back maybe 4 years.
A friend took his son to the last Goodwood PHSS and said they saw maybe 5 or 6 cars that had spun off the road due to black ice. Cold & damp weather is obviously pretty lethal on those roads! I take it no-one was injured when the Subaru made a bid for freedom?

If anyone is planning on "ONLY coming if they get to park on the grid" then I think they've fundamentally missed the point of the SS.Of course it's good to have the most rare and interesting stuff in a reasonably conspicuous place; after all, we come to these things to see cars we might not see every day in Tesco's carpark, and Goodwood's main straight full of the 1994-1997 Astra GSi 16v Fan Club would be a travesty (other adenoidal single-make clubs are available). But it's not a "show" as such, unless I've missed something...

Nope, no car or people damage thankfully. A friend took his son to the last Goodwood PHSS and said they saw maybe 5 or 6 cars that had spun off the road due to black ice.
