Great pics many thanks, since seeing it I can't stop browsing the classifieds. Stunning car
Thanks . Glad to see my polishing paid off. I have an ongoing thread here with all the work I have done on the car if you are interested. It might give you an idea of what you will be taking on if you were to purchase one. Great cars, I can't recommend them enough.Wizardskills said:

Great cars, I can't recommend them enough.Put a few things in perspective. iv been looking at the Mk3s. if I take the pluge it will be my first dip into classics and goodbye to the 350z.
In reading your post I see you had a few carb issues. Looking back now if you had have replaced the carbs first would that have cured a lot of the issues you came across when you started to take them apart?
Thanks

Yes with hind sight just replacing the carbs would have been a lot quicker. However, at the time I thought they were fixable and not worth the outlay of getting some new ones (around £200).Put a few things in perspective. iv been looking at the Mk3s. if I take the pluge it will be my first dip into classics and goodbye to the 350z.

It is also worth noting that this is not my everyday car. While it could be used everyday, it would not be ideal in the winter as the weather would take its toll on the car. Also while it is fairly reliable it does break more than a modern car (it is a 46 year old car after all) so if you rely on your car it may not be best to have a classic as your everyday car. Its not the sort of car you can just take to a normal garage as lots of the younger mechanics will have no idea how it works (one young chap failed it on an MOT because he didn't know how to operate a fly off handbrake ).
So if you are handy with a spanner (or willing the learn like me) and want a car for the weekends they are definitely worth it. As for an everyday car, well that would take some dedication but it could be done. I guess the best thing to do would be to go and test drive one to see if you like it.
Another great meet and well organised by PH. Thought Vauxhall was a good host. While in the museum I even saw the keeper let a few kids sit on the pre world war cars and sound the horn. Cant help wonder, if this was in a german/Italian museum would have only been able to view from distance and if touched would even up arrested.
Very late, but I finally got around to getting my photos off my camera and uploading them.

The first photo I've seen with my C-Class, albeit in the background, behind the Superleggera in my own private car parkhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/76766156@N06/sets/721...

Excellent stuff. Love the close-up detail shots, especially those that use depth of field to capture some specific detail of the cars. The set showing the Escort's twin-cam is gorgeous.http://www.flickr.com/photos/76766156@N06/sets/721...
