Nice to see performance Vauxhall's getting some coverage. Most models are are a bargain compared to the equivalent Ford model. This seems mad as usually the Vauxhall is the superior car in just about every aspect.

Looking forward to this... There is another forum gathering at this place a couple of weeks after which I'd planned to go to but the SS trumps it.... If its that good it might even be two Luton trips in a month... Eek!
Likewise, although both will be good. I'm in.

Had a white Mk1 followed by a red Mk2, happy times. Loved the recaros in the Mk1 and the digi dash on the 2 was something else.

Really looking forward to this,

Agreed on the GTE being one of the greats, haven't got a vxl at the moment.....but do miss my old cavalier

I take it as usual that you are allowed to bring passengers in the car?

Maybe my age but that MK1 GTE in white is the best looking hot hatch of all time.
And pre Chav!
Fully agree I absolutely love it, I had a silver one in 1988 I was so proud of my extra 200cc over my mates XR3i LOL!
+ 1 - I had a red one. Those Recaro seats cloud9

This must be the first Sunday Service in years where I'm not on the reserve list by the time I get home from work. Where is everyone?

Ahhhhhh.

I loved my Mk 1 and if it still existed I would buy it back, no hesitation.

Did over 100k miles in it and it only ate one camshaft.

Only 18 when I got it and it look fantastic in deep red and black.

Mk 1's look fantastic.

Any way I can book 2 cars in. Only seem to be able to make a change to my booking. Don't seem to be able to book in twice. Got a couple of interesting cars to bring down for you guys.
Currently number 404 on the list. My first Sunday Service.

Any help welcome - Thanks

Suggest whoever is driving the second car signs up with their own login. Guessing you're not driving both? smile

What you planning on bringing out of interest?

Edit - just seen your profile... Are they going to be trailered?

Enjoyed the 2012 visit to Vauxhall Heritage. Lightning Concept was stunning.

Trailered ???? Only museum pieces get trailered surely!. No they will be driven, and have a bit of fun on the way no doubt. The cars are no stranger to the Heritage Centre, for obvious reasons, but never been to a Pistonheads meet before. Hope you all enjoy.

Hopefully the second driver will be sorted - he's already booked in, but might bring one of mine instead of his own car.

Dave, Happy to help as always.
Maybe there will be someone from the PH office to do a feature on both your cars at the event? They are certainly very special running pieces of VX styling department history that deserve their unique story to be told on here.

As this is languishing at the bottom of the page i will give it a deserved bump.

Why not sold out ?

Is Vauxhall not fancy enough ?

It's not Aston or Jag so no ones interested....confused
