The Stroke Association is promoting its 19th edition of Supercar Saturday at Castle Combe on Saturday the 26th of October. Nothing gets closer to the real thing than the Supercar Saturday event where you can get a passenger ride out on the circuit. There will be over 50 cars to choose from; with something to excite everyone:

• Classics, from a Mini to an E-Type
• Supercars including Ferraris and Porsches
• Racing Saloons including Rick Rowles’ Honda BTCC replica
• GT cars including Radical sports racers and the Neil Garner TVR GTV8
• Japanese turbo EVOs and Imprezas

This is a unique opportunity to see how these drivers operate inside the car. What do they do that makes them so quick? This is your chance to find out!

Admission is just £5 for adults (free for kids) to meet the drivers and watch all the action. Rides are priced from just ₤25. Information on this years cars and drivers can be found at www.stroke.org.uk/supercar

Star guest drivers include multiple Castle Combe GT champion Simon Tilling in his ‘James Bond’ Aston Martin Vantage V12, BTCC legend Anthony Reid, Daytone 24h winner James Weaver, Grand Am pro driver Kyle Tilley and maybe one or two more.

Bristol Motor Club will be running an Autotest you can drive your own road car in – no previous experience required and coaching is provided. Entry is £25 for 3 runs on the course.

Drift demonstrations throughout the day, Fast & Furious style.

Gates open at 08:30 on Saturday the 26th October for a fun day out with 100% of the money raised going to support the work of The Stroke Association.

A great event, and I enjoyed giving passenger rides last year and will always be available in future, just not this year unfortunately.

Good luck one and all.

Cheers Lawrence and thanks for your support last year. IIRC you had quite a journey to get to us and made it despite some problems? Would be great to see you back for our 20th anniversary event next year.

Do please tell everyone you can about the event as we need people along to buy rides and make it all work.

I've posted this in the Noble forum and I believe Martin Bond has been in touch as a result and has spread the word as well amongst us Noble owners.

What;s the date for next year? Better get it in the diary ASAP!

Thanks Lawrence and yes, Martin has been in touch and has decided not to be out on track this time round, however he is coming to see if he can beat Dean Dockic's time on the Autosolo smile Bristol Motor Club put on a great event where you can drive your own car and get properly stuck in, so I really want more people to give it a go. At £20 for an entry, which is a coaching run in a Scooby with the Autosolo Stig and then 3 timed runs, it should be stacked out busy all day.

We won't have a date for 2014 until the national motorsport calendars and the Combe corporate days are all fixed up. We take a 'left over' day to minimise track hire cost which is the main overhead apart from insurance. So probably February earliest. As always, we will be aiming for the biggest mix of cars we can safely put out together. I'm wondering if we could out an Historic group, a Race Car group and a Supercar group?

Looking forward to seeing as many Pistonheads types along as possible because you are the people who understand the value of the cars and drivers we have out on track. This event is designed for 5* proper car fans like you folks. Petrol Ted is kindly coming along to support us so we're hoping plenty of PHers will follow his lead.

Latest lists are on the SW Group Supercar Saturday thread.

This year was my 3rd time at this great event!! I was driven in a 260BHP classic mini (not original engine!!) Which redefined "moving about on the track" in the wet... I was also passenger in a beautiful early 60's Ferrari 250 GT Lusso, one of 350 made and fair play to the owner for getting oversteery in the wet and filling my head with epic V12 noise... My dad came for the first time and I made sure the 2 cars he went out in were Simon Tillings V12 Vantage and Neil Garners Chimera GT... Both were epic and he came out of the TVR deaf and gibbering!!!

Oh yes - I did the autotest in my 2013 BM 330D touring... my time 70.1 seconds Ben Collins (Stig) in Atom AT04FUN 70.4 seconds... I beat the stig smile

There were great cars to see from Escort MK1 Mexico to 700BHP Nissan GTR (undriveable)to Murcielago SV to Radical to Ford Prefect drift car (!!)

My favourite and only way to give to charity....

Simon,

Presume you are giving rides? I have just bought a Spyder, so a ride in the Modena on track would be a treat.
