2016 - 15 Years of E46 M3 / 100 Years of BMW Event

Hello All,

I am posting this thread now to start the discussion about having some of the E46 M3 gang come over to the United States in 2016 for a event to celebrate 15 years of E46 M3 and 100 years of BMW. This will be a week long event that will be a mix of sight seeing, road tour, and one track day.

Right now it is just discussion about ideas and so on with nothing set set in stone. I am looking into sponsors to cover the cost of event activities and hotels so the only major cost to you for attending is flying here, car / rental, fuel and food. We will see how that pans out.

What the current plan is for you guys across the pond is as follows.

1. See about working out a group transport rate for those who wish to drive their own car here. This would be a rate for shipping here and back.
1A. Work out group insurance rates for the time in the states so you can drive the car here for a few weeks

2. As sending a car here and back will be $$$ the alternate option is discounted rate on BMW rentals for attendance.

3. See if there is a way to get a group rate on air travel (single city departure is the only catch)

Currently the event is planned to cover several states in the mid United States as this is fair to those coming from either cost with their cars.

I hope some of you find this idea at least worth considering for the sake of at least a good adventure.

Sounds like a great idea, are Alpinas welcome.
Have often thought about taking mine to the states for a few weeks, all depends on the transport costs.
If the event is in 2016, I have plenty of time to save up my pension

Hi, I am running a European road trip for this. which includes karting at Le Mans, Le Mans 24hrs museum, BMW Museum and factory tour and obviously the Nurburgring. this is leaving Dover on 4th June 2016 and is for 8 days, 6 Countries and plenty of laughs along the way.

I have an E36 M3 Evo - would she be counted for either of these trips or not? Ive done a car rally - Goodwood to Monte Carlo in my 1993 Landrover Defender - worst car after mine on the rally was an SLK 55AMG so I kept up the rear but was the only one to get to the top of the Stelvio Pass because of ice and weather and we only broke down on the way home - two Porches broke on day 2! But would so love to do something similar in the M?
