If you are thinking about coming to CWC but worried that it might be a bit of a trek - though I'm yet to hear any real complaints about being 'forced' to go for a drive - Ted and John are popping down from Scotland in their Aventador and 458. That's what you call commitment!

BATH AUDI SPONSOR VEHICLES

It's an R8-fest for our sponsors, Bath Audi, this year at Caring with Cars. Bath Audi are a centre of excellence for RS and R8 vehicles in the UK.

They are bringing not only a wonderful R8 Spyder, but have sourced the most expensive R8 GT Spyder ever produced which is resplendant in matt paintwork. No doubt it is also dripping with every option imagineable!

You can take a look at the dealership's stock and contact them about your requirements at their website:

A sudden realisation that time is flying has made me look at my diary and bugger-me, we are racing @ Snetterton that weekend of CWC, coupled to the fact I blew my gearbox in the Noble this weekend just, has left me with no car for the wife to bring!!! frown
The prize will still stand Graham, no problem and can be for this year or next if required.
What a pain, really looking forward to this event, have a good one and raise lots of money!!!

TIM BLAKEMORE - FUNNY BIKE

On the lawn will be Tim Blakemore's stunning Kawasaki funny bike - the first funny bike in the UK to hit 200mph in a quarter mile. The Funny Bike class is a couple of steps down from the snarling Top Fuel drag bikes, running at around 6 seconds over the quarter. Seriously quick!

Tim is also bringing a turbo street bike and a junior drag bike - just make sure the kids don't see it, otherwise they'll want one!

OLLIE AND BLADE DUMMER - DRAG BIKES AT CWC

These two gentlemen are into their bikes; Ollie rides a turbo streetbike with nitrous and his son, Blade, a Junior drag bike. The Juniors have their own championship, running over 1/8th of a mile (for safety) with the 11-16 year olds running that in just under 9 seconds.

Check out Blade's Facebook page here:

I'll be there too, will be bringing my 1956 Paramount Sports.
Just wondered, can I bring two cars, might be able to bring the other old girl along too a 56 Paramount Roadster. I couldn't add two cars on the Pistonheads diary page though so don't want to upset numbers.

BEST IN SHOW TROPHY - SHINY SHINY!

The Downs School headmaster, Marcus Gunn, has agreed to judge a Best In Show award this year.

In line with the ethos of the event, the winner won't be judged by how expensive their toy is; rather, how cool, how unusual or just how flipping shiny it is. But it will be up to him who he awards the prize to.

The prize being this spiffing trophy.

We've even gone to the expense of providing fabulous etched-writing on the base, to remind the winner when they find it in their cupboard in 20 years time. And they will remember their triumph, holding it aloft, with golden sunlight bathing their arm and angels singing.

Maybe.

DRAG KART - YES, THERE IS SUCH A THING

A chap named Lee Capaldi owns and runs a rather mental drag kart and he's agreed to pop along to CWC to show all you lovely people.

It's a metal chassis not much bigger than a normal kart, but with a Kawasaki ZX12 bike engine strapped behind his head.

Steel cojones.

EXPERT SPEAKER - JOHN GOLDIE (DAKAR RALLY VETERAN)

In 2012, John and his friend took a KTM Dakar-spec bike around the USA, and in 2014 was part of the Race 2 Recovery team of injured service personnel taking part in the Dakar rally. John has extensive experience of rallying in many parts of the world and runs Rally Raid Assistance, providing spannering and management for offroad rally teams and owner-drivers.

John will kindly be giving a talk on his bike exploits at CWC.

John is such a nice bloke, in 2009 he brought a Bowler and his Unimog support vehicle all the way from Scotland to be at one of my very first events, hastily put together in 2 months and attracting about 100 cars.
