I have some time this evening to email all the raffle prize donators with details of who won their prize.
I was told by the woman selling the tickets that you needed to be there for the raffle otherwise you wouldn't get the prize, so didn't buy any as I had to leave early. IMO 2:30 was a bit late in the day for the raffle to take place.Ross Parker said:
Hi all,
Thanks for a great day from Infinity-Exhausts, We are not sure who won our raffle prize of £200 off a custom exhaust, Please get in contact with us and we can discuss options. We would very much like to come again next year. I didn't bring my Type RA impreza and regretted it as there was not a single classic shape Impreza there.
A few bits of constructive criticism:
1. In order to gain the most money for charity a charge of £5 or more on arrival in order to park, Everyone would be happy to pay this.
2. More plugging of events happening through out the day, we had a lot of people asking to sign up for sound comp even when it was happening, I think people could be charged £2 to enter the sound comp.
3. I think both the Auction and Raffle should be done earlier as when I watched the auction from the back of the Monster truck there were maybe 10 people there, they all left after the raffle.
These are only ideas to help bring in some more money on what was a great day, It would be a shame not to run it next year.

I made this suggestion after the last CWC, rather than an "entry" fee or collecting on the gate how about:
To get on the list you have to buy a raffle ticket. A £5 donation on the just giving page entitles you to be on the list and you get a raffle ticket handed to you on the way in (though this would require list checking on the gate). It also means no shows would also have donated and by how many tickets given out you'd have an accurate car head count.

The auction that took place wasn't planned. Once all the top prizes in the raffle had been won the majority of people left leaving a sparse crowd behind. Someone brought back a raffle prize they were unable to make use of and it was decided that, rather than keep pulling tickets with so few people there, we would auction the returned prize and the nerf guns.
A formal auction is something that we are considering for subsequent events.

guys, someone posted earlier about donations, looking at the cars that were there, an extra £20 from most of us would take the amount raised to a decent total and wouldnt break the bank. If we want an event next year then we have to dig deep. We have donated again and i challenge the rest of the great PHers to do the same. It would be a shame to lose this event....

It's really easy to do. PayPal can be used on the JustGiving page. Perhaps a few Twitter posts could raise some additional awareness too.

Hi Matt,It's something we've struggled with for years: too late and people don't buy tickets because they're leaving, too early and people haven't even got to the lawn to buy tickets.
The raffle tends to be the point after which people start buggering off, so you can imagine that we don't want to hasten that. If we run CWC next year, we have a plan to improve matters and hopefully that will include tickets bought prior to the event that don't require attendance.
We also hope to hold an auction of some of the prizes.

Graham, I hope you got my email. I have managed to get a corporate donation which will help raise the total a bit.
I am happy to help with any thinking you may wish to do around how to raise more money next time without extending the entry queue.
Hi chap - yes I just got your email. I'll reply in a mo - many thanks for thinking outside the box, and thanks to your company!I am happy to help with any thinking you may wish to do around how to raise more money next time without extending the entry queue.
If they donate directly with Louise at the hospice referring to Caring with Cars, that would be great!
We're just your average PHers, and we created CWC to cater for our kind of enthusiasts who want to see a tractor next to a Lamborghini and the owners having a chat.
That is PH.
We welcome all ideas about how to improve the event, without affecting its core values. It's first and foremost a big meet for PHers and others that we invite to provide extra interest, which also raises some money for the hospice. I like the relaxed, private niche we have and lots of people say we're one of the best events they have been to. I am very critical of myself and the event, but at the end of the day lots of people had a good time and we all got to hear and see some great machines. I want to improve how we do things, but I don't see it ever being a public event or held solely to raise money.
If anyone has any criticism, polite or violently abusive, email me through my profile. And also if anyone was pleased with something, let us know so we don't arse it up.

Another suggestion for next year: invite car clubs. I noticed that there must of been a fair amount of unofficial meets by Triumph Stags, Porsche 911, TVRs, MX-5s, Ferrari's, Maseratis, Abarths and more. They could have a marked out space, a gazebo or what ever they have.
I may be wrong, as it's the first time I've been involved with CWC, but I think car clubs and rows of cars all the same is something the key organisers are keen to avoid. Preferring instead to mix it up and get people meeting and talking to people they might not have done in the past. Parking different marques next to eachother so that it's interesting walking around and each car can been seen for it's individuality rather than just one of the masses. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me
