Well done Shelly & Jamie, your greatest success so far, going to be a hard one to follow!!!!??? Shame about the Chavmobile winning, what on earth were the judges thinking when there was that fantastic old red Jaguar sitting there, bet the owner was gutted.
I understand what you're saying David, but I think your comment is a little harsh.

Remember the show is called "Pride and Joy", and that car is clearly his pride and joy. It's what the show is about. It's not a classic car show, or a super car show (or a TVR show, although I think we were the best represented brand!). It's a show where people bring and show off their pride and joy.

Whilst the car isn't to your (or my) tastes, it's clearly had a lot of time and money spent on it, and you could see how long they were taking to prepare it for the show and shine!

And yes, the Jaguar really was stunning. As was the red Porsche.
The quoted reason for that particular car winning was that there was someone cleaning it for nearly 2 hours and they thought that this was true dedication. As far as I understand the chap cleaning it was a professional detailer who was paid to clean it as the same guy spent an hour on the DB9 parked next to me. On the other side of me was a 15 year nut by nut rebuild MkII Jaguar that was immaculate. That should have been the winner by a country mile....

Just to clear up the above speculation, he wasn't paid to clean the car, it is his car and has been for the last 5 years or so since he bought it stock.

Taylor's a great bloke, and if you took the time to talk with the guy, you'l learn that he shares the same passion for cars as everyone else at the venue, including the other owners that were just as qualified to win 1st place.

The Chavomile in question is my Vauxhall Signum and just too clarify a few things as god know where these rumours have come from :$

It is 100% my car and has been for 5 years from completely standard,
i am not a professional detailer just a guy for the love of cars that is a enthusiast detailer and was not paid to detail my car :$ lol
I had the same tshirt on as one of the seller's because I'm sponsored by them and didn't touch someone else's car because that was some else that doesn't look anything like me lol

Obviously you havent been to a modified car show or don't really know what you are talking about calling my car a chavmobile is like calling me a boy racer

did you see me speeding, driving anti socially and being disrespectful no

everything on the car has been custom made ie the air ride system, wheels etc and have been magazine featured in 3 different magazines and won 17 trophys including 1st place at the biggest vauxhall show in the world in Germany last year so clearly not just a chavmobile I get in and don't care about

To be honest I know your never going to have everyone appreciate what you have done but I didn't do my car to have your approval I did it to prove I could do something different to a car that hasn't been done before

I know I was going to get some sly remarks having a few modified motors on the tarmac but was invites by shelly and the response from fellow lambos, Ferrari etc owners coming upto me shaking my hand appreciating what I have done and how well presented visually and how clean , which was a nice feeling getting a opinion from owners whose cars are more than I can dream of, even the guy who won the show last year walked over to shake my hand and congratulated me.

I Couldn't of done to bad as I've had 4 potential customers asking for me to detail there pride and joys

and thankyou for shelly for the invite and a fantastic show and the weather couldn't of been better

Hi All,

I just want to point a couple of things out. As mentioned Aaron is not a professional detailer, he just loves his own car and has made it as best as he can that pleases himself and I myself thought his car was a true work of art. Is that not what we all do to our own cars ?

He and his friends were all very nice to chat too and you can see from his face just how proud of his car he is.

Before the show Aaron was concerned about joining us at the show and I told him that the whole point of our show is if it is your own Pride and Joy and clearly it is for him then it is welcome It was his first time joining us and I hope will not be his last. At any show you will get some people like some cars more than others but that is why all marques of cars are invited.

I do not want to ever exclude anyone from the show, I myself, love to see the Super Cars, the Classics, the original one off's like the Little Tikes Cars and also the Mod Cars. We recently went to a Mod Car meet with our TVR and was made to feel most welcome. Some of the cars there were stunning in their own right.

Anyone who knows us personally, know that we attend a lot of meets and I hope that people know I am not being unkind so lets all look at the good bits of the show, Beaulieu Smashed the World Record, We raised lots of money for Naomi and we all enjoyed a sunny day surrounded by some truly stunning cars and met and made new friends. What was there not to like.

It was me who detailed the DB9 in question at the show, unpaid by the way.
I'm sure you'll agree that it turned out great.

Thank you to all who gave me the opportunity to showcase products on your vehicles yesterday, a Range Rover, DB9, Mustang and Noble did indeed keep me busy.
Thank you for all the great feedback on the results too.

I think the winning car definitely showed the most care and dedication in his presentation and originality; and was rightly rewarded for it.

Perhaps some alternative categories for prize giving could be introduced next time.

Good to meet up for a quick chat yesterday, your car sounded very nice I must say, you mentioned you had put a new set of headers on the car, but I can't remember who you said had supplied them, could you remind me. ( I was in the check shirt and green camo shorts )

Cheers,

Nick.

I completely agree i think the winner deserved it! He's clearly put so much into it along with his girlfriend who was doing an excellent job of the grille! smile just because it's not a super car doesn't mean it's not a worthy winner!

amazing photos! do you have any more, a blue VX220 perhaps?

Unfortunately not - I spent ages trying to get the right angles/space around the VX220s .. but failed - always seem to have the sun in the way .. was a great turn out by you lot and amazing how well they showed against the the nobles parked next door
