PH South East Gathering - 01/04/14
Discussion
To be fair to the Impreza, I loved the green and was quite jealous it wasn't the colour of my Sag. Deciding to play your music for everyone to hear is just tttish though - regardless of if it's any good or not and keeping both your doors open when you can see the car park filling up is really rude, especially when yours isn't the best car there
RE: comments about the green Subaru...
So are you all saying that Jap metal of that era is not welcome at the SE gathering events? I've not been to one yet, and was going to come along to this if i made it off of the reserve in time. Now I wouldn't be sitting around with my doors open or playing loud music, that's not my style. I'm an enthusiast and would be walking around gawking and talking. But I wouldn't want to come along in my mr2 if it's not really wanted there...
Anyway, it sounds like it went well, and the pics and vids are appreciated. That GTR sounds insane.

You've got the wrong end of the stick chap...The point of my events are it fits in with the ethos of PH - It's an appreciation for those that love cars, regardless of what they are. Keep in mind that this particular meet & the official PH meets are about as diverse as a car meet can get, you do get everything arrive and there's an appreciation of it regardless of what it may be.So are you all saying that Jap metal of that era is not welcome at the SE gathering events? Unfortunately the chap in question heard about the event via word of mouth & decided to pop along...He wasn't aware of it being an event that was going to be at capacity First sign that he had no clue of our numbers. Secondly, reluctantly shutting his doors after 5 polite requests. Thirdly, loud music more suited to McDonalds on a Saturday night, not our meets
The below picture best sums up this event - You get the below arrive, & EVERYTHING else you could possibly imagine in between.
Come along to the next one...We had plenty of first time event go-ers at this one after all.
Thanks for a great night again, great to finally say summer is on it's way.
My personal experience this meet is great i currently drive and old ford but i can talk to a fellow pistonhead people like myself who is driving a 458 italia or a GTR which only i can dream of owning at the moment.
Loud music isn't my thing anymore just to walk, talk and see all different cars make my night.
I stayed until late and that's when people say no names Fiesta 13 plated "ST" decided to overtake on the bend outside the pub over 100+ mph onto oncoming traffic...... god to think if he crashed into a car or the tractors what a complete """".
I see too many road traffic incidents while i am at work and do not want to see it when i'm enjoying my day/night off
Use your loaf that's all
On a lighter note love the cars leaving they sound awesome

Not too many of the boy racer brigade either which was nice.
.
Bit of a harsh, generalising statement there. I thought the meet was for petrol heads?.
I'd say I was a boy racer. Standing in car parks doesn't do it for me. And nor a lot of others by the way people seemed to like the leaving antics.
But I can guarantee that I have spent more time and effort on my car than 99% of other people at the meet and take a lot more care of it too.
I had the track Civic btw that arrived a little later. The one that has had every nut and bolt removed at some point by myself.

Interesting post...I don't really see you're problem. You say you are a boy racer...I couldn't see many boys at the meet, most were men (30-60 year olds). You say that standing around in car parks doesn't do it for you but you must have done some of that at some point? oh, and well done for spending so much time removing your bolts.I'd say I was a boy racer. No problem as such. Just seems that the post was implying that 'boy racers' aren't welcome. What was the post above mine implying ? That any car other than a super car is a boy racer car? And not welcome?
Hi guys
what a turn out that was,
although it took me a couple of hours from central London I think it's worth it
I made a small video clip of people accelerating away and starting up,
hope you enjoy
