Hi all,

Is anyone attending http://www.thesupercarevent.com/
I am struggling to get any kind of response from the organiser's, therefore i am starting to think there are troubles with the organising of this event, and that maybe it won't run this year.

We (www.southeastscoobies.co.uk) have supported this event with a club stand for 2 years and in smaller numbers for the last 2 years. We would like to return in larger numbers with a club stand this year, but there seems to be much less drive/promotion coming from the organisers to all the car forums.

We have tried PM'ing 'Harsh' from our forum who was one of the original event organiser. Emailing the event contact at children's trust ( a response was recieved but it contained little more info then the website), a post on facebook and also a facebook PM.

As a club we need to start arranging and providing attendee numbers and collecting or arranging payments to the charity.

If anyone has any more information, could they please provide it.

Thanks

There was an Italian day on in Horsham the weekend just gone.

A guy I work with went along and picked up a leaflet about this event, so I'd certainly say it is happening this year - otherwise they wouldn't be advertising it.

Sorry, the reply isn't much help!

Hi Scott,

The event is very much going ahead this year, in fact it's bigger than last year with some really exciting new aspects to it.
Apologies if you've not had much of a response from anyone, I will try and find out why that is.

I've stepped back a bit from the full on day to day organisation for this year simply because my own workload was too heavy but the rest of the team are very much involved, However i am still helping out in the background and will get onto this for SES personally. I will head over to the forum right now and find out why i didn't get your PM and take it from there. Apologies again if your questions weren't answered, your support ver the last few years and the support of everyone else makes the event and lapses like this shouldn't happen, it's likely to be my fault so I hold my hands up frown

Hi Harsh, thanks for the quick reply and I'm very pleased your still around and involved.
I need to start pushing this event on our forum, and to do so I need to know prices for club stand attendee's and how/where people make payment. It's been very difficult to do this without this information.

We also have a busy next few weeks with one of our breakfast Meets, the Supercar Event at Leeds Castle and also our annual trip to the Nurburgring at the end of May.
Therefore the event organisers of SES need to kick off a big push for the Supercar Event @ Dunsfold to ensure we have worthwhile attendance numbers.

We are certainly looking forward to it, as are my 2 boys...........

There is, but it will only get in "1 car and two passengers" rather than a car full for £31.50 - a family ticket (2 adults, 2 under 16s) is £31.50 as well. Plus this year tickets are through See Tickets and you have to state which day you are going on, so less flexibility than before (plus a booking fee).

We all went last year and it was great - wouldn't miss it for the world!

Last year you could get a car with passengers in for £10 on the club stand, which was basically a car park closer to the event. Is that deal off for this year?

Love this event.

Any can spend a load on 'silly car stuff', as the missus puts it, guilt free as its for charity!

When I asked, I was told the code to get the £31.50 offer, so yes, it does seem to be that the £10 entry is off this year.

Sadly PH have not responded to any of the emails or phone messages I've left for them ref this years event numerous times since November so I can only assume they are not interested in being involved.

A small correction to that, the car club tickets are actually £15 for a car and two passengers (I guess there will be a booking fee for that) but this is only accessible with a discount code send directly to the clubs themselves, as of now it's not available to PH'ers due to the problem i mentioned above frown.

If someone from PH would like to get back to me I'd be happy to talk about it.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it last year, we're only a bunch of volunteers but we do our best!

Sadly yes. I'd much prefer to be able to keep running with that deal but our hand was forced for this year, if we could go back to it we would!

Just double checked and you are right. With booking fee, the cost is £16.50, although it wouldn't have got the 4 of us in.

Thanks, for the correction - we will be there anyway.

Can PH explain why they haven't responded? I and many other PHers have attended this meeting for the past 3 years. It would be a pity if there was not a PH presence this year!

I too am disappointed there doesn't seem to be any response from PH.

How about arranging a Sunday Service there on the 22nd June? Entry fee payable as it's all for charity.

Hat's off to Harsh for trying to keep this event on track.

BUT...
The promotion of it is poor, with car clubs having to hunt for details and contact information
The price has risen
I'm not happy about a charity event being fleeced for booking fee's by the ticket agency.
In some cases it's cheaper to get in via non-car club ticket opportunities.
I've enquired about car club attendance but no one has asked who we are and how many.

If it wasn't for the enthusiasm of the drivers providing rides and the car clubs wanting attendance this event would be destined to fail.

It would be interesting to find out how many of the car clubs attending are new for 2014 and how many are old timers. I doubt very much that this year has pulled in many new clubs.
