Sadly it does seem that very few have signed up, I think I have spotted about 5 PF logos in sigs, and that seems to be Nathan etc!

Hope it does not become tumbleweed

Be kind, and kill this if there is not enough interest.

Just an idea for Nathan and the rest of the PH team!

As there are almost 600 people signed up for the the SS on the next day, why not capitalise on that attendance per capita head.

Make an offer to the SS guys who are signed up and on the list, let's say a discount. Of £15 on the £50 entrance price.

So the people signed up for the SS pay and some on Saturday for the pistonfest event.

Let's do some fag packet sketching , I reckon 400 of the SS crew would come on the sat if the price was attractive .

So that means if we make the offer for SS attendees @ £35 per person, so 400 would bring in £14000 of revenue for the drivers.

Let's say 50% bring passengers! which is low in my experience, and we get 200 @ £35' so another £7000.

That's a total revenue income of £21000, I reckon that would cover all of the venue rental, fees and some spare for paying the entertainers too?

I am trying to be optimistic and upbeat here too! wink

Absolute joke.

And for those sycophants trying to defend this sorry shambles, have a word with yourselves.

The more fluid an event, the more it takes it's own course and either succeeds or fails based on the attendees. Sunday Service is a case in point.

The attendees and their cars are the event. We don't need a load of fancy attractions. The first PF was a success (albeit the weather was on our side) with a marquee, a band, beers and banter. A field, a marquee some beer. Generally the PH demographic aren't short of a few quid to pay a sum for the privilege of such an event, but make it £50 and it leaves a flavour of being mugged for a night's camping. I see no reason why inflated prices are necessary for a host of things people don't want.

I know Ted suggested PF was a headache of an event to organise and told me I didnt know the half of it, but this attempt and cross between radio silence, apparent lethargy in responding and general half-hearted approach to, on the face of it, an overpriced night camping just outside London, seems a poor effort.

I was one of those keen to see a return of PF and I was watching the thread with interest. I have few spare weekends and deliberately kept this one free, but as the time nears and nothing materialises with any degree of certainty, I think I can cross it through. Instead I think a few of us might just organise something similar ourselves.

The biggest joke is that I can see PistonFest 2014 being branded a failure due to 'lack of interest'.

This thread is ample evidence that the lack of interest is on the part of the organisers, not the potential attendees.

As promised, I have some exciting news!

Our good friends at Dunlop are now involved in PistonFest and as a result, we have been able to slash the entry price to just £25 per person, so I'm sure you'll all be pleased to hear that.

I'll update the flyer but the latest news is:

The band we have booked have performed for us before at both BTaP and PistonFests, they are The Mighty Goodfellaz and will be playing a set with some great covers in on Saturday night.

We are also going to open up the stage to you all in a "PH has talent" feature whereby we will award prizes to the most popular acts, be it stand up, singing, dancing, pretty much anything as long as it's family friendly.

We have been contacted by some other companies wanting to get involved too and we will update on those as we have any more news.

To book your tickets at £25 per head, visit http://www.1st-tickets.co.uk/ph/enquiriespf14 the page will be updated shortly to reflect the £25 entry fee rather than being the deposit.

We will be confirming the food and drinks on offer within the next week.

Thank you

This reminds me of those Winter Wonderlands we've seen over recent years. You know the ones with dogs wearing antlers, in a muddy field with a 17 year old (Romanian) 'Santa'.

Great news! Can I suggest a great big ad on the PH homepage and a banner on all the forum pages?

This is starting to have a whiff of a witch hunt about it.

Constructive commentary is one thing, but stuff like this adds nothing.

Much like the rest of the updates to this thread.

Carry on, as you were. 6 weeks before the event in the middle of the school holidays you haven't any real plans for anything and you still want people to commit.

I'm sure you will feedback as to how the weekend was, or are you not going ...

Well done! And if I'm called a sycophant for that - so be it. (sycophant - a person who tries to please someone in order to gain a personal advantage) laugh

I think it might be too late, but PLEASE listen to the feedback on the promotion and FFS respond more often!

Front page link, with ALL the details.

Include in every email as you would for SS, Le Mans etc; new thread in Events etc

Confirm the reduction for kids

Can dogs go?

Etc
