North Wales, Evo Triangle, 22nd June 2014 meet?
Discussion
I have just telephoned the resident of The Sportsmans Arms, he confirms that yes they are closed but he doesn't mind us using his car park. He said that we just need to move the cones then put them back once we're done.
I promised I/we would do that and we would not leave any litter.
Sorted.

Looks like a great trip out - they've just re-surfaced half of the stretch between the Visitors Centre and the junction near the Sportsmans, with the hot tar and chuck some stones down approach. Not too many loose stones to worry about chips, but enough to bring you down to 30 or so for a stretch.
The Sportsman entrance is covered with cones, and had a skip or two, so will need the first car to do some clearance work before you all filter in.
No cameras to report in the twisty bits - they seemed to be sticking to the main A5, but easily visible at the end of long straights.
Enjoy.
Cheers buddy.
Luckily the Triangle can be appreciated at reasonable speeds, I'll be setting my 'bong' speed limiter to 65 to remind me to back off.
I was at Harewood house car show yesterday and invited a load more people with nice/interesting motors. Some were up for it, some were "oh no, not my thing sorry, I don't want to put the miles on the car".
Such a waste of a; Quattro, RS Focus, Noble M400.
Just 6 sleeps!!

I'd avoid the east side of the triangle for now - it has gone from a glorious smooth ribbon of pristine tarmac to 70% stone chippings for some unknown reason. At the weekend I ended up with my car full of gravel, and getting properly pelted by cars driving the other way at full speed.

I know the east side that you're referring to, no problem missing that. I may do a little reccy on the day to see if it has been resurfaced since your post.

That's the road - I'd say about 15% has been resurfaced about a week ago - at 30 there was hardly any pickup hitting the wheel arches - there was so e build up in middle and between 'tracks' but mine had just had front end respray and I'd have bailed if it was terrible - can route through the visitor centre to miss half of it too if you like. Cheers Steve for organising the hoon around the triangle today, I`m Paul with the elise. Such fantastic roads with some cracking motors, even got sunburnt in the process. Lovely to meet likeminded car addicts, sorry I couldn't carry on any further as when checked my sat nav for time to get home,i had to make a very sharp exit. Look forward to seeing some of your expert photography, cheers Paul.
Thanks Paul, good to meet you an the other PH guys too. Thanks for your patience after our disjointed start.
We carried on hooning until 9pm! We went back to do more runs of the B4931, it looked incredible as the sun was setting.
Such a good day, full of adventure and lots of laughs. I was very impressed with the turnout, not just the appropriateness of the machines for those epic roads, but the gloss of the paint and the immaculate interiors - that was until Zia used his M5 interior to open a can of coke that is.
Andy, now known as the BallardBasher will never live it down as he crashed in first gear and mounted two kerbs to blow a tyre. What on earth was he doing I'll never know!! Made more funny by the fact I told him if he removed his spare wheel before the trip he''ll go faster.
A quick recap..
1/We set off heading for Liverpool Kingsway tunnel on time.
2/Andy races ahead on the M62 then takes the M61 north???
3/ John and Kate take the M6 South turning???
4/ we regroup then enjoy the first few miles of the A494
5/ Andy flattens a bollard in first gear and blows a tyre. In TopGear spirit we left him.
6/ we roll into Bala lake car park to a splendid show of performance cars beside mountains, blue skies and a magnificent lake.
7/ drive the best roads I've ever driven
8/ massive mug of tea at PetesEats in Llanberis
9/ more driving, more stopping at vistas, more laughs.
10/ home for 1215am
Absolutely fantastic, pleasure to meet all of you.
Vids and pic links will be posted here in the coming weeks.

Thanks for organizing the event.
As Paul has said, a brilliant day out with just the right amount of cars so we could pretty much all keep together.
With only having the car a month, it was the first time I have had a chance to stretch its legs and it didn't disappoint, especially when I pressed the little 'M' button on the steering wheel which really transforms the car. Had a good run back over the Snake Pass with very little traffic for a Sunday afternoon.
I'll look out for any more road trips that will involve another trip to those fantastic roads. Difficult to believe how busy it was in Bala and then literally a couple of miles away, you have more or less got the roads to yourself!
P.S - thanks for all the comments about the paintwork on the M3!
Great to meet you all!
Cheers
Andrew, Chris and Dan

Hi, Big thanks from me as well Steve, It was a superb day, Great group of chaps and a lady of course, Some great cars fantastic roads It was one of the best run outs I have been on in a long time, (and I have been on a lot) Right amount of driving chatting and taking a breaks for more chatting and pics of course, Can't wait to see the in car footage and pics I have a feeling they are going to be very very good, Sorry I left bit early but as we left betws y coed car park and knowing every one else had just fuelled up I noticed I had 47 miles to empty so thought I best not risk it and time was getting on for me getting back so thought It best to make my exit and not hold any of you up, Also been laid up with bad guts since getting home hence let reply, Any way thanks to you for sorting it all out and thanks to every one else for making it a good day, Bring on the next one and lets see that footage, Thanks Tim (Nismo)
Hey Tim, Andrew, Dan, Chris,
Thanks for being patient with us, sorry for being late but at least you had a cracking backdrop to look onto.
it was certainly a day to remember, driving Nirvana for me I absolutely loved it.
Very kind words guys I take no credit for it's success, we just had the right ingredients and it all fell into place.
John has started on the footage and I have processed a pic (see below (Richard I have doctored your plate to disguise reg). I could have easily gone crazy with he camera but would have meant less driving and chatting, so hopefully I got the balance right.
I can't wait for next time!
