Yes there will be. More details to come shortly.
How shortly? I'm off to Australia in a week and worried I'll miss the car park booking ... I need to get out more.

I'm open to suggestion. If I can get a few people agreeing a suggestion I will arrange something and try to get everyone involved. Everyone loves the drive down so why not galvanise it and get it on??
We've been part of the show the last couple of years & agree that Brooklands>convoy>activity>convoy>parade>show was great.

We quite happily travelled up from Devon & back for this, but the new requirement for cars having to be on site by 8am on the Sunday has made it almost impossible to organise any pre-show stuff.

Nevertheless we are still attending with four cars this year.

Our plan is to make a weekend of it & do some sort of unofficial road trip/activity on the Saturday, before staying somewhere on the Sat night near to Wilton & then on to the show in the morning.

If we don't head to London to run back with the others do you have room for a little one?

Not sure - Yellow 458, red 599 & grey 16M is us.

Lads from Exeter joined us in a green wrapped GTR...?

Is there going to be a list made available of cars on display Saturday and Sunday? I note a fair bit of negativity earlier in the thread so seeing a decent list of what is attending may spark a bit more interest. At the very least it will help people decide which day to go to.

I'm also a little curious about what makes a classic vs a supercar (or can something be both?).

Looks like they're putting the feelers out for classics as the SuperCar contingent are thumbing their noses at the Wilton organisers after Jay's exit/push.

He put his heart and soul into making that event a success and when there may be a decent payout for him after years of work he was mysteriously no longer required.

I'll not be going and I'd be surprised if this event ever gets the volume of quality cars it has in previous years.

I'm getting a few interested in a london to wilton dash. Any body else pls inbox me on dvdltd@hotmail.co.uk
If I get enough interest I think we can make a go of it including a 4 star hotel as most will be travelling down and it will be an early start.

I'm taking my Ultima Can Am again this year. Last year was the first time for me at the Wilton Classic and the Brooklands overnight do and run down to Gurston Down, prior to the show was a massive draw for me. The 8.00am requirement very nearly put me off this year, despite living just 30 miles away! Decided to give it another chance and have booked a hotel just outside Salisbury. I agree that something needs to be organised for the day before/early Sunday to retain the interest for participants, if the supercar event is to survive beyond 2015.

The convoy and lawn exhibition cars were chosen by invitation only in previous years. How does it work now?

If you would like to take part in either the CLASSIC Saturday display or the Sunday SUPERCAR display please apply using this form which can be found on the website. Please be quick to avoid disappointment as 50% full already. (we are only accepting x4 of each model to ensure a good mix)

http://www.wiltonclassicsupercar.co.uk/wp-content/... -

CHANGES TO FORMAT - Having the cars displayed on site from gate opening will allow our visitors much more time to enjoy and photograph these magnificent machines. For half the day previously, there has been a huge void in the middle of the show.

With up to 2000 people now on the public roads watching the cars midday arrival it has become just too hazardous and we have been politely recommend by the police to address the element.

PRE EVENT ACTIVITY - We are looking to continue the the pre event activities for Supercar owners going forwards but with so many other changes this year, not least moving the show from the end of the summer to the start, we have simply run out of time and capacity. (we are after all only a team of two!)

We hope to resurrect something fun for 2016 though!

50%? I would have thought it would be more by now. Try posting in the Classics and Supercar sections rather than here if you want to drum up some attendance (this is a quiet place in comparison).

BTW, a free coffee and pastry for the drivers seems a bit seems a bit, well, basic seeing as they are giving up their day, and their cars, for someone elses gain.

Hi Will,
Thanks for the update.
I don't want to comment on the Jay situation but would offer a suggestion for this year - having joined the Supercar parade for several years, I'm a fan of the event so be assured this comes from a good place.
I do think asking people to be in place by 8am is a bit tough if they have to stay until 4pm - either its a very early start or hotel the night before
Would it be possible for the Supercars to arrive during a window in the morning, say 8-11am, which would allow people to organise their own informal convoys to Wilton while achieving your aim of getting cars there earlier and not all at the same time? I think you might get a bigger turnout
Just a thought, good luck with the organising

+100%
being there for 8am has no attraction at all
removing the pre-show event has also reduced the incentive to bring the lambo
sorry to be negative, but we might as well just bring the daily, coming and going as we please biggrin

We hope that free admission and premium passes for everyone in your car, the best parking, supercar parade, prizes and free breakfast (albeit continental) is pretty fair. There is another show down the road which will charge you £63 per person + £60 to park your car! (with no breakfast or hospitality)

Our aim is to look after everyone who displays their car to the very best of our abilities and we appreciate it is a long day which is why we have tripled the amount entertainment and demonstrations, so will hopefully be a lot of fun!

We hope to plan some pre show activities for supercar owners in 2016, but unfortunately we simply ran out of planning time for this years show. A consequence of bringing it back by 3 months!
