PH at Wilton Classic Supercar 2014

What did you miss at the weekend? Catch up here

Arriving at Wilton House just after eight to see an empty field with just a PH branded caterer in the corner was not the most auspicious start. But within a few minutes our parking area started filling up with some great cars and, despite Mother Nature's best efforts early on, the turnout was fantastic.

The catering tent filled up quickly with PHers enjoying lovely food and drink. We were lucky enough to have the start of the rally stage close to the parking area and the noise from the cars was superb; there must be worse things to be up early for on a Sunday morning!

Away from our parking area there was lots going on to keep people entertained from traction engines to the rev offs and the fabulous supercar paddock. The cars arrived just after midday with a PH pair proudly on show. Matt had endured a drenching in the Morgan Plus 8 Speedster (full review soon) with James staying dry and warm in an R8 V10 Spyder. Funnily enough the latter was never too keen to swap the whole way down from Mercedes-Benz World...

Well done Keith!
Well done Keith!
There were some gorgeous cars out in the grounds and in the main 'Head to Head' display. See for example DK Engineering's stunning Ferrari 250 GT Lusso, a Bugatti EB110, Lamborghini Miura and a BMW 507. That's before the Maserati centenary exhibition is mentioned... The sunshine was certainly much appreciated then!

Racelogic was kind enough to give away a V-Box Sport for 'the most PH car in our parking area' (in case you hadn't guessed, this was massively subjective and judged on no proper criteria whatsoever). Our winner was Keith Brown (keith HF) with his fantastic Lancia Delta Integrale HF Evoluzione. Keith has owned the Integrale you see here for nine years and owned another similar one for eight years prior to the yellow one. The man certainly has a dedication to the petrolhead cause! Unsurprisingly, his love of Integrales comes from watching rallying in the 80s and 90s.

Brilliant event as always! There are a lot of videos on YouTube which capture some of what the event's all about.

My first time, and despite the weather was good.
Pity about the muddy drive in, having cleaned my wheels specially!
Thanks to PH for providing the parking and a dry spot for an early morning cuppa.

Good choice - love that yellow integrale. Remember drooling over that on Sunday!

Sounds like it must've been an interesting event! Never knew there was such a thing as a Plus 8 Speedster; that sounds like sports car heaven, to me. Looking forward to the write-up!

Anybody have any more pics? I mean, mentioning the EB110 and the Maserati centenary display and not putting up a single pic of either? nono
