Welsh Weekender - 24th to 26th October 2014
Discussion
A few piston heads are getting together for a fun road trip in Wales. The plan is to meet up near Reading and drive west into Wales before heading north, through the Brecon Beacons to north Wales. We will spend the night near the Evo Triangle and spend the next day driving the various roads in the area before heading back home of Sunday.
A similar trip was done last year and we welcomed others to join us, either at the meeting point or in North Wales. Turned out to be a good event with loads of S2000's, a couple of Boxtsers, a Noble and various other machinery attending.
Anybody out there who would like to come along is more than welcome. At the moment I have set up a Facebook thread and we have around 5 to 6 people who have confirmed either to meet up for the drive through Wales on the first day or for the Saturday.
There are a few choices of hotels. I will personally be staying at http://www.llwynonnguesthouse.co.uk/ which is a stone throws away from the Evo Triangle. A few others will also be staying here.
I have a route we intend to take for day one and two. The route for the first day is shorter than what I did in the past to compensate for the reduction of daylight in October. On day two the route is short but the plan is to do many of the roads again, and again, and again!

I will decide what do to on the third day depending on what others want. Some may just want to head home as quickly as possible. Others may prefer a scenic route but I have various routes so can decide on them later.
We are all a friendly bunch and there is a real mix of people and cars so anyone is more than welcome. Let me know by replying to this thread and I can then pass on the FB details or post more specific information on this thread.

Can I have the facebook link? might be up for this
cheers
Hi. I ended up discussing the trip on one of my posts so I don't think you will be able to access it without me adding you as a friend. If you access the following page: https://www.facebook.com/GTExperienceMedia you can either like (so I can send you a friend request) or send a friend invite to me (Assad Ahmed). My name appears on the latest post on that page.cheers

Hi chaps, Any chance of sending me some details or posting them up as I am interested in joining you but I don't do the face book thing, Thanks
Sorry about the delayed reply. Most of the actual details are contained in the first post re the trip. It contains the route via on Goggle maps, and the place where we are staying. The guest house is actually fully booked out but there are places close by that should have spaces.
We plan to meet at the service station on the first day for 10am to 10.30am at the latest. Some are meeting here but other are either gonna join en-route or at the guest house.
If you have any other questions or want anything clarified you can email me on assad@rahmanlaw.com
I will convert the route to a ITN file so it can be used on TomTom.
If you are coming let me know so I can give you proper contact details etc

I might come up for Saturday route and leave Saturday tea time, How many confirmations do you have at the moment and is it ok to do the one day, [May be couple of us]
Your more than welcome to come as requested. So far we have 5 cars travelling up on Friday. Once you know for sure let me know and I can provide you with contact details for the day.You should have reasonable weather for the Friday afternoon and Saturday. I live in N Wales so may be out and about for a drive on the Saturday, I will look out for you.
The road surface on the EVO is good but watch out for traffic turning into Llyn Brenig reservoir, it can get busy on a nice day.I was at Brenig last week and there was a motorbike accident on one bend, negative camber and leaves etc. so if your not familiar with the route have a careful lap first.
Take care.
