Hi all,

Never been to this, but only live about an hour away so would really like to go this year.

There seems to be a lot of options when booking and any feedback/experience would be much appreciated. Would probably go down for just the day, probably the Saturday.

Anyone have any experience of the grandstands, performance car park etc?

Many thanks smile

For your first time, don't bother with a Grandstand, get there early (when the gates open if possible), wander around and enjoy...

it will take you a while to get to see everything and work out where everything is, so watch the cars going up the hill (in different places) whilst wandering around looking at everything else. Do the paddocks early whilst quiet and go home when you have had enough.

Been going for years now and love it every year

Fancy a change so going the camping this year, hope the weather hold stays good!

Get there early and just wonder around. Get round the paddocks early! Too much to do.

I only just manage to see everything I want and we spend four days there

You wont see everything in a day, so as has been mentioned, get there early to miss the traffic getting in.

If you do go Saturday, look at the threads here on PH that should say what and where things are from people that have been there on the Thursday & Friday, you can then plan where to head to when you go.

Food and Drink are available all over the site, but it's the usual prices you get at most events these days. I only mention this as it gets brought up every year. Take sun cream (it's very easy to get sun burn).

Grandstand is not really worth it for a day as you'll be walking round visiting and seeing everything over what is quite a large site.

Went this year for the first time. Got there as gates opened (7am I think) and did the paddocks first - not too busy and you get up close and personal with most stuff (love the whistles and Marshall's running through the crowds when they move the cars around). Spent the rest of the day watching the hill climb from various points and looking at a few trade stands (though got round very few) and left at 7pm (took a while to get out of the car park at that time). Some of the car manufacturer's have stands that over look the hill climb (audi and merc) with decent viewing areas (and complimentary drinks), you just need a key from that manufacturer to access the viewing area (borrow keys from friends with those makes of car).

Only disappointment was the rally area, took a while to walk up to it and not a huge amount to see unless you are really a rally nut.

I must be getting old...I always take the Granstand ticket as it's roaming, so you have access to all Grandstands not just one. I think it's the Goodwood Revival where you only get one seat allocation.
Also seeing that the last couple of times I have gone to FOS it has rained they are worth the extra money just to stay dry.
