Wheels Day 2015
Discussion
It was very quite but still had a good time. Shot off just after midday having seen everything on offer.

I was going to go to this then found out it was by pre registration only
I don't do bloody Facebook
According to the Public Facebook site, all spaces were taken and any other cars that turned up would be directed into a public car park.
So I suspect many that pre registered took one look at the crap weather and decided not to bother? Hence plenty of space?

I thought it was brilliant, but then I knew about the 500 car pre-booking limit and the Popham show. I like the idea of the selection process to weed out crap like Civics and Mk. IV Fiestas and ensure that every area of the customising hobby was represented by the best cars, so my only real complaint is that at least 20 of the 500 spaces seemed to have been awarded to Civics, Mk. IV Fiestas and similar ste that no one who's ever been anywhere more exciting than an Asda car park has any interest in seeing.
The only other problem was that some people who had been awarded entry clearly didn't fancy going out in the rain. When the SSR promise 500 cars and 500 people agree to display their cars, it's an insult to the organisers and the public to then decide that, actually, you can't be bothered. It's selfish, too, as it denies exhibitor entry to those who aren't afraid of getting their hair wet.
I think the SSR did a fantastic job, and after all the st that got thrown their way last year, they deserve credit just for bothering to run the show. They managed to completely eliminate the problem of queuing, so maybe next year they can increase the entry to 750 and see how that goes, but they absolutely must keep out the Asda hatchback brigade.

Well said, totally agree. They done a great job. We had a great day there. Weather can't be helped. Maybe it will grow, think the MOD are capping the entry numbers, also its their rules about no dogs. However many were still there. Anyway, great variety of cars, good range of trade stands.
I kind of enjoyed the carnage of Wheelsday from 2013/2014 it was great to see so many people going out of their way to cram in to one event.
Didn't make it down this year but understand the SSR toning it down a bit, just a shame it out grew them and got a little out of control.
Would have been fantastic if they could have pushed it further, you never know, it could have turned into something like the Big Power Meet in Sweden!
