Just a reminder of our itenerary for the day:

08:15 Meet at Pease Pottage Service Station at the base of the M23.
08:20 Initial 'Welcome to the Event' greeting, and packs handed out.
08:30 Depart in convoy for Brighton (cruising speed 65mph)
09:00 Park up in one large parking block in Madiera Drive.
09:00-10:00 Big Breakfast in 'The Madiera' (b/fast from just £2.99)
10:00 General social events etc. Plus your chance to be one of the first to book that Jaguar XE test drive! and to chat with the industry attendees about any car issues you may have.
11:30 Group signings of banner, and group photos for the forums
11:45 Prize Draw for the SNG Barrett Goodies, the numbers to be drawn by Tony

The parking is pay and display at this location and is £1 for an hour, £5 for two hours, £10 for four hours, or £15 for 11 hours (I would suggest for most people the £10 parking option will be sufficient). Your meal will be from £2.99 per person.. so hopefully no shocks or surprises if you are on a budget

We are set for what looks likely to be the biggest Bi-Annual Brighton Convoy and Meet so far!! We have 64 cars, 95 people already signed up for this event and the forum threads have amassed over 20,500 viewings to-date and we still have six days to go for any others to sign up to what is to be a guaranteed large & great Jaguar day.

Just look at what we have for the day:

Cars from 1965 through to 2014 and 2015 attending, (from an E-type right through to the all new XE)
Goodie bags and welcome packs (and a limited supply of Jaguar car posters),
A convoy to make a huge summer impression as we enter Madiera Drive,
Unlimited breakfasts at a good price,
A free prize draw for some great prizes for any Jaguar owner, supplied by SNG Barratt,
Photo shoots,
Socialising,
Harwoods Jaguar & The Automatic Gearbox Centre onsite for all your questions,
Checking out Jaguars new baby the XE, and being able to be one of the first to book a test drive courtesy of Harwoods Jaguar,
A twitter feed (@JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet) with all the news until the day,
A LIVE Twitter feed on the day of everything happening as it happens,

All this plus the fantastic backdrop of the Brighton promenades, the sea lapping on the beaches in front of the meet, great local shopping, amusements, fish and chips and the list goes on... plus going by previous meets the best cars will likely all be in tourists photographs :-)

So if you are already signed up you are set for a great day, and if not why not? There is nothing to lose.. your only costs are for parking (£10.00 for 4 hours will likely do) and your unlimited breakfast which currently is from £2.99 upwards!! So go on, why not sign up? Make it a petrolhead day for just you and your car, or a family day out for you and your family..

You can sign up by posting on this thread or by emailing me directly at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk, and if you have Twitter don't forget to follow us at @JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet for all the news as the day approaches and on the day for live updates!

It will be good to see you there on the day, and it is just before the convoy itself that we will be distributing the Welcome Packs..

If you can't make it for the convoy let me know & I will try to hold a pack back for you OK?
I'll be joining the convoy now.

Managed to make a compromise with the wife. She's ok with getting up at 05:45 on a sunday now i've booked us in at a nice hotel in Brighton for the sunday.

Yep, compromise seems to be the key to this event lol... hence this one will be the last bi-annual event.. however it has been agreed at home I am fine running it annually (thankfully :-)) and I have to admit in all honesty that running this twice a year does hammer my home life. *However* as I will have more time to plan and arrange I am hoping to really start to scale this event up if I can as of May next year :-)

This years event has way outstripped my expectations - I organised more Welcome Packs, more goodie bags and moved us to a breakfast venue with more capacity, and yet it's still going to be a very close run thing this time :-)

So far we have almost 100 people attending, and approaching 65-70 cars - this is going to one huge FREE day for everyone.. and I am very much looking forward to seeing everything from a gorgeous 1965 E-Type through to Jaguars new baby the XE.

My wife has agreed (so far - but still open to a change of mind I am told lol) to the family coming along this time to see what all my time through the year is going on, so it may well be a first for them, the same as quite a few of the attendees this meet.

We do however seem to have hung onto a core of 'seasoned' Brighton Convoy & Meet attendees as well which is really nice and hopefully shows I am doing an OK job :-)

Two years ago we had, if I remember, seven people and now with this Mays meet we are looking at maybe 100 or so people - next year - I have no idea lol

I very much look forward to meeting you there on the day :-)

The itinerary, parking, & breakfast costs are all listed in this thread, so there are no surprises for those of us on a budget - but the event itself as such is FREE and will remain so.

OK, an update of the food front for the day:

I have just got off the phone from the duty manager at The Madiera Harvester, which is where we are booked in for our breakfasts, and in view of the increase in numbers from the anticipated 50 or so, to 100 or so they will be opening a section up exclusively for us, rather than just a huge table..

On arrival everyone will need to go to the bar, and order their food etc and get a number. The food will then come to you - usually within ten minutes but they accept that they may be a little longer than that dealing with the number of us that are coming.

You can put a post up on this thread if you wish to attend, or you can email me at JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk - either way I will happily add you in.. as usual I need to know if you wish to attend just the main meet, or the meet and the convoy, your car and year, and how many people will likely be travelling in the car..

We even have a NEW live Twitter feed for our event @JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet - why not follow us and get all the latest updates, news and info directly to your phone or computer as it happens?

The itinerary, parking, & breakfast costs are all listed in this thread, so there are no surprises for those of us on a budget - but the event itself as such is FREE and will remain so.

Should you be without your car for any reason on the day please contact anyone below listed as having free seats - we look after our own and would still love you to be able to come!

If you haven't been before and would like to check up on some of our recent Bi-Annual Convoy and Meet events please have a look here: UK South East Meet December 2014 in Brighton or UK South East Meet Spring/Summer 2014 in Brighton

OK this is pretty much the final update as I will be offline most of the day tomorrow prior the meet itself (yes a day off - yippee :-))

If anyone wants to be added to the list of attendees please just post your details on the thread and I will pick them up and add them in either late Saturday night or early Sunday morning if I can - it is safe to assume you are included even if I haven't been able to respond.

We currently have approx 68 cars and 110 people, goodie bags and welcome packs (which I will get assembled for you guys Saturday night), plus five (maybe six) Jaguar orientated or branded prizes for the Free prize draw at the end of the day.

In addition we need to ensure we get one photoshoot done for our sponsors before we leave on the convoy, another one at the end of the day with the signed banner, plus of course all the great shots possible of our huge range of Jaguars - for me its the E-Type & Mk2 that will be priorities to snap :-)

The banner will be out and available through the morning for everyone to sign (noting that on Tuesday the banner is on it's way to Scotland for a huge Scottish meet!).

The goodie bags and welcome packs will be handed out just before the convoy, and will have to be one per vehicle basis - however the entry tickets for the prize draw will be on a one per person basis.. tear the ticket in half, keeping one half, and putting the other half in the prize draw ticket box for Tony.

What else?...

Oh yes, in Brighton we will be looking for the largest free block of parking we can find - hopefully we will be OK as we will be before the main rush. The breakfast will be in The Madiera Harvester who have been good enough to agree to set a section aside for just us. We all need to order our choices of breakfast at the bar there, and get a number. They will then bring your food to you - hopefully within 10 minutes but the duty manager has said they may miss that figure due to the numbers involved, but he hopes not.

The parking costs in Brighton went up last year, and are always higher in the summer months, so you are looking at £10 for 4 hours or £15 for 11 hours.. noting the meters can sometimes be a bit finnicky about taking money.

The breakfast costs are from £2.99 adults, 99p children. I do have a few menu sheets I will hand out before the convoy to look through, but the latest available pricing and menus will be available in the restaurant for us.

Finally, if anyone has Twitter please tweet as you go (so to speak lol) using #MayJagMeet, I will also be *trying* to do a live Twitter feed as I go - but am dubious if I will manage it with everything else going on.

And finally, finally lol... I will get my pictures and synopsis up as soon as I can after the event, but my home life has taken a fair battering over the past few months whilst I have been pulling it all together so it may be a few days before I get a chance to get everything after the event up online.. so you may have to bear with me a little there.

I hope you all have a great day on Sunday, I am very much looking forward to meeting everyone and their cars :-)

I apologise for the delay in getting this up online, but I was on holiday (half term and children off) for the past week getting in some family time and some mileage on my new 1998 XJ Sport.

I am now back at work and the usual daily routine, so finally have a chance to write up my synopsis of our day.

Please bear in mind that I am not known for a good memory - so any mistakes, ommissions etc. I apologise :-)

In the build up to the day our threads had received 25,000 views and we had 15 people following us on Twitter @JFBrightonMeets plus quite a quantity just following our hashtag #MayJagMeet.

We had sponsorship from Harwoods Jaguar with goodie bags, an XE onsite, and test drive bookings being taken, SNG Barratt supplied goodie bags, a £25 gift voucher, & a branded umbrella, and The Guardian (a forum member and attendee) supplied a signed Help For Heroes JLR book, an F-Type branded bound notebook, and a Jaguar Apprentice shirt, and I supplied a cherished E-Type (OK, OK it's a 1/16th model lol)..

My son had gone down with a cold, so it was just me coming along today.. with my XJ boot crammed full of goodie bags, prizes, and welcome packs for everyone - including a very limited quantity of Jaguar posters for those that might want them.

The weather was cool but dry, and I made it to Pease Pottage Services for 8:15am. As I pulled into the car park I saw almost nothing but Jaguars, and lots of people milling around. I pulled in and started unpacking everything.

We had a few issues with the prize draw tickets trying to fly off but managed to distribute everything and Tony (from Harwoods Brighton) started collecting the draw entries.

The posters went rapidly, with more people wanting them than we had.. the posters had all been checked by my son and labelled up to make it easier for people to get the one they wanted.

We then had the welcome to the meet speech and set off for Brighton, a few minutes later than we had planned, but not too bad.

This year we had the gorgeous Mk2 leading the convoy - at pretty much a steady 55mph or so, allowing any late leavers to catch up with the main convoy.

On arrival in Brighton at just gone 9am we found plenty of parking across two sections of Madiera Drive, which we did our best to fully populate.

Whilst parking, the Madiera Harvester called me to check we were actually coming, and I just commented that if they looked out the front of the building they would see Jaguars streaming past them so yes we wopuld be there shortly.

I made sure the banner was mounted across my car, as usual, and we all headed into the restaurant.

The Madiera has a capacity of 175 customers and had set aside the whole back section for us along with an overspill into the front section if needed. The breakfast was a fixed cooked breakfast and served, in my case, within three minutes or less - very good service, and the breakfast was great.

After finishing my breakfast I headed out to the cars and tried to get as many photographed as I could - it was like a surreal situation with car after car after car. I tried to photograph every car individually - if I missed anyone I apologise :-)

After working through all the photos I could reasonably take, I headed for the Jag Gallery to ask their permission for us to take our group photos outside. They were more than happy for this - which works well for us as a backdrop.

Everyone was still in the restaurant having a natter, so I headed back in and settled down for some catchup with everyone.

As we started to approach the time for the signings and photo shoots people started to move from the relaxing environment in the restaurant back out to the cars.

Once we had managed to get everyone to sign (and re-sign as some pointed out) we headed over to the front of the Jag Gallery and after getting the group together we started on the prize draw element.

On a few of the prizes, tickets were re-drawn when it was found that whoever had the number was not there but overall went very smoothly with photos taken of our winners as they collected their prizes.

We then got the banner held up in front of the group and took the group shots - please bear in mind, as always some people had already had to depart before this shoot. The Jag Gallery also took shots of us and had fridge magnets on offer at the end of it for £2.49 :-)

It was a fantastic day with a convoy lead by a gorgeous Mk2, a (for once) relaxing breakfast in a great environment, prizes for several attendees, photo shoots, and a general great social calendar event.. the weather held for us, the backdrop was gorgeous.. and everythiung went smoothly.

It just leaves me to say thankyou to everyone who attended (saving me from pics of me, a Jaguar and tumbleweed), to the Guardian, Ngarara & Tony for all their help on the day, to our sponsors Harwoods Jaguar Brighton, and SNG Barratt, and WaxOnWaxOff for our event discount code.

I am now open to any ideas and thoughts you might have that maybe I could do for next years event - you can catch me on Twitter @JFBrightonMeets or on email JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk *or* just keep your eye out for a forum thread appearing near you in the next few weeks :-)

Thankyou once again to everyone!
