I received an email last night stating the entry had been accepted and they would be in contact to sort out payment details and a pass.

Oh pants, think the number of cars to be chosen was 500?, know it was mentioned originally that they the show was going back to its american roots, will be interesting to see the pics from the day as to what cars made it through

Maybe they will increase numbers next year, but wonder if the weather is naff how many people will just not turn up leaving spaces that can't be filled. At least with people paying up front the charities won't miss out so win win for all

Enjoy the day you lucky chosen ones😆

Anyone can turn up on the day, it's just the 500 show spots you have to pre-book and be approved for.

It's not just yank stuff. I got in with my MX5 and my mate's got in with his Alfa 155.

Yeah know you can go in as joe public, but not the same as showing your car, been going since 1998 in a car on the show field when is was more rods and yanks and exotics, and not so much daily drivers

At least the way it's done this year won't be so chaotic, would still recommend you get their early as aldershot and farnborough were usually grid locked by 8.30

Just thought I'd add here a post on another forum from one of the SSR organisers:

'All cars without our entry pass will be sent to public parking without exception. We are planning a small area set aside for any classic yank/custom/classics that arrive to park away from the daily runners however this is purely at our descretion (not yours) and is first come first served. Also it should be noted that if/when all other public parking areas are filled then this space will be utilised.
I know this isnt ideal but we are trying to help those who do decide still to come in their show cars to park safer and together place!'

So if you get in early there will be an area for interesting cars who are not pre-booked.

When parking on the field we got there approx 8am ish, and spectators would be coming in 9 am, this was 2 years ago, but due to traffic the earlier the better

Enjoy the day
