I’m off to World RallyX at Lydden on the Sunday and staying down in Surrey on the Sunday evening. Might wander up to Crystal Palace on BH Monday for a couple of hours – sounds fun! As a thick northerner, is there anywhere in the vicinity where one can park? Even a tube stop or two away?

Crystal Palace railway station, is on the doorstep of the park. There's plenty of free, for this event, within the park, if you arrive in something interesting, the marshalls, will give you better spot Great day yesterday and the weather held off apart from a little spitting. Some lovely cars on show and competing, i was trackside at a marshal post so managed to get a couple of videos.
The Chaparral was the highlight for me, ooh the noise. https://www.facebook.com/100007351938829/videos/15...
Monday will be just as fun and again the weather is on our side.
Remember getting onto motorsport of this kind is relatively cheap and with the right choice of car you could be up there with the best collecting trophies.
Contact Sevenoaks and district motor club for more details, better still maybe come to an event and talk to the drivers. I did this a couple of years ago and got the bug, now i am chasing the championship with a reasonably good chance of placing high up.

Spent this morning at the palace, what a great little event. Very low key (this is a compliment) but well organised with a refreshing accessibility and a nice assortment of car club displays. I hadn't really appreciated the history of motorsport at the venue, I assumed it was a bit of a play in the park- completely wrong on my part.
