Great day yesterday and the weather held off apart from a little spitting. Some lovely cars on show and competing, i was trackside at a marshal post so managed to get a couple of videos.
Was it your video playing in the media tent?

Great photos! The Mini taking the "shortcut" made me laugh.

Here's my attempt - have a load more, but still need to filter through them - https://flic.kr/s/aHskbSJdJL

Spent this morning at the palace, what a great little event. Very low key (this is a compliment) but well organised with a refreshing accessibility and a nice assortment of car club displays. I hadn't really appreciated the history of motorsport at the venue, I assumed it was a bit of a play in the park- completely wrong on my part.

Thank you, 7 Oaks have tried really hard to get this event where it is today. We ran the event, back in the late nineties with great success, until Bromley Council pulled the plug after 2000. Since then a lot work was done behind the scenes , to get the event back on. 7 Oaks had to purchase all the Armco barriers, which has to be dismantled and stored after the event. Security are hired for 5 days, the outlay for this event is huge. I'm surprised I always struggle to get 6/7 Porsches on display. Free entry for driver & passenger, to watch great grass roots Motorsport. Thank you to everyone that came along to support this.

That shocks me too, I would have thought people would be jumping at the chance to get free entry and a nice parking spot at an event like this.

One thing to mention is that normally if you turn up in a car (or I assume on a bike) that could be considered a bit interesting you are directed to park nearer to the front. I had seen this to be the case in previous years and was told that this happened on the Sunday but due to the guy who normally arranges this competing on the Monday it didn't happen, which I think (for the event) was a shame. It didn't affect me but thought I would mention it as it is normally nice to see some of the interesting cars in the car park together as you arrive.

I hope this event continues for many years and keeps its friendly feel.

Your right in that Jason was competing on Monday. But there was so many interesting cars that arrived, we was full, by 11am. Sunday, there was plenty of space left. The trick is, register in advance with a club, or make your own, bring 5 interesting one make of cars, and you will all get in for free. If you arrive on the day, in something interesting you will still have to pay. What I love is chatting to the older visitors, most of the time, you'll find they competed at CP, in some form or another, moved away and its the first time they've been back in years, and have great stories to listen to. This year we had Karts back, for the first time since 1972, a lot of them, had raced back then, in the same Karts, they bought along to show at the weekend. Plus we had old classic bikes, on the track this year doing demonstration runs at lunchtime, which was fab.

As it happens I was on a stand (due to someone else dropping out - before I even arrived). I fully appreciate it gets busy quickly and therefore not always easy to select suitable cars for front area, I just thought it worth mentioning as I specifically went out to look in the car park to view the cars normally in the area.

Thanks to everyone that showed their cars, I hope you all had a great day. Keep the date free, if you want to come back next year.
When you compare this with Bromley Pageant tomorrow, its a bloody bargain. BP is £15 per adult!!! To show my own car!! And £6 for children, and No Motorsport to watch. Palace was a tenner for adults and free for kids.
Palace is free to exhibit if booked in advance. I won't be going to BP.
