Anyone been before?

Trying to decide whether to go on Saturday or Sunday. The programme isn't exactly clear on how these days play out and what with never having gone to an event such as this before I'm a little clueless.

Any advice for a family visit to a concourse event?

I have been to all three previous events (Windsor, St James and Hampton Court) and have enjoyed them all, although perhaps Windsor the most for a variety of reasons including the perfect weather. I don't think there is really much difference as to which day you go so just choose whichever suits you best really. No real advice for a visit except to say it is best to go for reasonably smart dress for these kind of events (very nice and rare cars in regal surroundings). I don't know Holyrood but from the previous events I would say best to take a picnic if you plan to be there over lunch time. Oh and take your time looking at the cars - the event is about quality rather than quantity.

I'm planning on taking a 5yr old girl who can take or leave cars, plus my 2yr old boy who is obsessed with cars. My wife will no doubt appreciate the spectacle.

Shouldn't be a problem, right?

I don't see any problem and it will be a spectacle.

Might go up with mini-wijit for a nosey. Other than the cars listed (which are more than impressive!), are there other things on show?

I went to last year's at Hampton Court, well worth it.

Apart from the palace itself, there wasn't anything else to do or see.
