Make sure you book seats in the tribunes online before you come. You can no longer buy them on the day, and standing becomes a real chore after a while. Also you don't get a good view of the action. It is worth bearing in mind that the weather at that time of year is almost always seriously hot, so come equipped for the sun. The number of pasty Brits keeling over in the heat is quite embarrassing sometimes. Above all, enjoy, it's a superb event and we try to go every year.

In my opinion, Wilson is the better tribune as you are on the hairpin and get to see all the sliding and paint scraping! Cathedral is good if you want to sit on the grid, but Wilson provides better action and noise.
Regards weather, it is almost always high twenties low thirties, but that is of course once you are down this far south. I can't speak for the ride down though. A hat and sun block plus bottle of water are essential as there is no shade in the tribunes.
Having said all that, it will of course now piss with rain and you will be cursing me!
Enjoy the event, it is pretty much unique and has far more atmosphere than Pau, which is the only other street circuit of a similar calibre in France (I don't count Monte Carlo as it in a league of its own)The Bugattis are a sight to behold as are the GT's. Sadly I will be away working this year so will miss it which I am really gutted about.

Hi, we will be on the stage on Friday night as we always enter Concours so we get a good parking spot on Champ de Mars and then in the pits and around town Sat and Sun. Our trip takes 2 weeks as we visit different towns and villages and hotels each trip so we see more always finish up at Albert to visit the world war one sites. Ron.

Was that the white one? Saw one that looked lovely by des halles on the Friday evening and in the display on the Sunday!

As my first time there and really enjoyed it. Definitely keen to do it again.

Actually, that's probably a daft question when it comes to Mk 1 Cortinas, isn't it? smile
