I think I must of been behind you. 1.5hrs moved 20metres, it was around 4:30 finally told could go out other way. Looking at times afterwards, I think the supercar exit parade effected staffing around that time as well.

The only bonus is the roads where we exited on that side were lovely and empty!

The event itself has grown in a really good way as an event, larger but not just with 'fillers'. The exit plan issue needs to be resolved though.

You were, right behind me. You followed me through the country lanes.

Lucky. No point with pistonheads parking. Been sat over 1hr already waiting to leave and all the general public just pushing in front. Awful organisation by wilton house.
I left early and the exit lane from PH parking wasn't set up properly by then (was pushed into the entry lane rather than the exit lane at which point I was screamed at by the fat woman on the entrance at that time) luckily it wasn't too long only took 5 mins but the queue coming in stretched for miles and miles.

When I heard that this years event was going to be a 2 day event, I feared that the magic that the show had would be diluted.

Thankfully I needn't have worried! It was better then ever & I had more time to view everything & to add to it all, it was my birthday on the Sunday too which meant I'd enjoy it no matter what.

Highlights? Seeing these three together was a start!

Great show! The best yet. But Christ on a Bike getting out was horrible. Kit car broke down as we arrived (as usual). My brother came to pick me up with his Defender on his one day off... and got stuck in the exit traffic! Poor guy! Looking at my phone I sent a picture of the queue to a friend at 15:13 and then called ahead to let the family know we'd be back for dinner when we reached the end of the queue at 16:39. An hour and a half of queuing!!!!

Had I known I'd have cycled over!

i left at about 5pm and it was only 5 mins to get out thankfully. Albeit my car was covered in dust sitting next to the dust track.

Nice seeing the P1 GTR, 675LT, LaFerrari, One-One and Aston Martin Shooting Brake thingy (Jet 2+2?) in the flesh for the first time.

Liked the size of this too:

The show certainly exceeded our expectations and is a must on our to-do list next year!

Only let down was traffic control as already commented on by others.

I had a chat with a few other PHers stuck trying to leave through Blue Gate with a conclusion that now no-one else was joining the back of the line that even if there was a queue at Green gate we had nothing to lose but to try. Over an hour of going nowhere getting worse by the show getting close to closing and the public car park all filtering in front of us, the management was shockingly useless.

Got straight out through Green gate, and greeted by loads of cameras! Wish we had turned around much sooner :/

Getting in was a also slow but at least moved!

Enjoyed the PH parking zone and banter with other PHers! smile

Always a great event & this year was no exception! was definitely a contrasting weekend, Saturday was calm collected & very chilled, Sunday on the other hand was a COMPLETELY different beast! great to see so many kids enjoying the cars & the yells of "REV IT" were answered by nearly all drivers on the exit parade much to the excitement of everyone.

Personally We didn't have any problems getting off the site at around 4:45 the only downside was being local we went to use a rat run we knew to get the right side of the estate but found the road gated off so had a long reverse back up the lane!! lol
Can't wait for next year!

We left as part of the supercar parade and luckily got out pretty quickly. Can't help but think the old way was better having the Supercar parade on the way in. That way perhaps a smoother transition of people leaving would have been achieved as the supercars left throughout the afternoon rather than everyone try to leave as the last supercar left the estate.
Just a thought!

I had a very enjoyable day and it was great to see the event appeal to such a wide and diverse demographic. There are few car events throughout the year where my car club members can bring along their significant others, kids, etc. and be sure of an entertaining and full day.

I attended on Sunday only , arrived around 09.00 ish and with the Pistonheads Smiley in the windscreen I was directed to the Pistonheads parking area .

Had a really good day , very busy and struggled to get some good photos of the parade .

As for getting out , I watched the supercars exit close to the road gate so knew that I could get out the way that went into Wilton town centre so I headed that way , it was busy but I made it out onto the main road in around 20 minutes ( this was around 5pm ish )

One thing I did witness though which didnt impress me much , on the way to the exit I passed the car club parking area signed " paddock parking " not sure which car club was parked in there but one of the drivers refused to stop at the exit of the parking area when the marshall signalled , as a late supercar was trying to exit , the marshall ended up on the bonnet of the car and fell off towards the side , he wasnt injured but thought this was no way to behave even if they had to wait a while to exit .

The EXIT signs were non existent , dont recall seeing any , and noticed one off the gravel road exits had barriers across it , I also noticed that cars trying to exit by the Wilton town centre road ended up on the west lawn and had to be turned around by Marshalls .

As an exhibitor I thought the new format was much better. The public have plenty to look at from 9am and the exit parade provided a real climax to the day at a specific time. If owners leave in a trickle throughout the afternoon the show just fizzles out.

Well for me at least it was too longer day having to leave home at 5am and not leaving the grounds until 4 is too much especially when I have my better half with me. I'm guessing it didn't take you 1 1/2 hrs to get out Tim?
Nope for me arriving at 11ish as previous gears in larger number was better.

Didn't have too much of a problem getting out, left just after the parade at approx. 16:30pm. Great day out helped with the perfect weather. Got a ton of pictures, here are a handful..

Been every year and this year was the best yet. We went on the Saturday as much more interested in classics than modern supercars. Splitting the themes created a very different vibe on the Saturday, it was far easier to enjoy the cars and surroundings with less crowding. We always hated the Rev off part of the show, just seemed naff, so it was great to split from that stuff. I heard that many of the food outlets were disappointed with the numbers on Saturday, but I am assuming that Sunday more than made up for it. We were staying in Wilton the whole weekend (in laws place) and it was obvious that Sunday was far busier, with a younger, and more family orientated crowd. I really hope that they press Replay for next year and the weather is as kind again.

I thought it was a great event this year and overall the changes they made worked really well. I liked the Tiff interviews and they should definitely keep this. I didn't mind being asked to stay on site from 9-4 - I think this is a perfectly reasonable request to ensure the cars are on show the whole day. Exit parade worked well.

A slight shame to lose the morning activities and then the entrance parade from previous years (I believe the removal of the entrance parade was driven to some extent by the local council) but all things considered I think this was the best Wilton house event I have been to over the years.

Overall everything seemed very well organised - great job Wilton House - we will definitely be back next year.

Paul.

I saw that the queue was long so just went out to the right (instead of the way the traffic came in) - no hold up and straight out. Turned left and the road took me out onto the road along which I came in :-)
