Looks like it was a nice meet ! so have this now become underground with limited numbers?

such a shame, Grasshopper nights were lovely and was always such a big range in motors of all types.
No its not underground (go back to the first page on this thread) smile

But sometimes Pistonheads is a Victim of its own success, if everyone that wanted to go attended these meets you would need a massive venue! Even the Grasshopper had a cut off point. I did not arrive until 7pm but there were still plenty of spaces in the car park, you also have to remember these venues that allow use of their premises are also looking for customers.
Last nights venue is very resturant orientated so while its good to chat in the carpark they do have a business to run and have to provide space for families to park too wink

I was in Petrolhead heaven on the way home following Kev in the Lambo, it became a snarling fire spitting beast not to mention the crackles and bangs, it was like November the 5th all over again. biggrin

Thanks to all that came to the recent meet - Apologies for the delay in coming back to some of you, just been straight back into work.

For an invite only event we had a fantastic mix - To have within a small cluster, an Aston Martin DB3, Jaguar XK120, a gorgeous classic 911, 2 Tesla's, a Datsun 240Z & a lime green Lamborghini Huracan was quite special & all within a few metres of each other. Varied as can be.

The next one WILL be invite only again (I just like that I don't have to man the gate so I can chat!) - Numbers circa 120 cars...As epic as the 200-250+ car meets are, I enjoy the smaller turnouts more as I get to chat to everyone!

In summary - The new venue love us, we all seemed to love the venue & it's food, so the next date will be going live shortly. Again, it is Invite Only - If you want to come along, please message me, the whole purpose of me handling the invites is to manage numbers so we don't overflow the venue.

Another fan of the smaller meet, somehow I seemed to chat to more people! Didn't go into the pub bit a lovely setting on a great stretch of road. Be lovely to get a barbecue or something going in the summer!

Love to go on the list for the next one Umair!

Your car was hardly quiet as you pootled past tongue out

Nice little drive out that was smile

As mentioned before Umair, great venue, atmosphere and company of cars/people of course.
Really reminded me of some of the first meets you held.

Looking forward to the next for certain.

Cheers for organising

Chris

I miss the bigger Grasshopper meets, as opposed to this new style. It's gone a bit too "Secret Squirrel" for my liking.

Both my cars aren't really massively special, a classic Mini Cooper and my daily Impreza GX Sport. But, I did like to wander about with a pint and check out some really nice machinery parked up, of which there was a huge variety. I can't be the only one who thinks this.

Having to message to find the location sounds like we're organizing an illegal rave haha.

Exactly this ^^ it really is a shame, grasshopper meets we're huge but was nothing better than after a hard days work going down there an having a wander around some great machines with a pint smile , like your self my motors are not overly special but that was the joy of the grasshopper meets where as now it certainly feels like this is going down "the select few" route.

Nothings changed but it HAS to be managed & unfortunately I also run a business so I'm spread very thin as it is...What you both may not realise this event spreads big time...It goes from forum to forum, word of mouth, people copy & paste the details & yours truly is the one responsible & accountable to not only the venue, the police, local residents as well as those attending...As I say, it HAS to be managed as 1 numpty can ruin it for everyone.

You'll both be at the next if you want to be, I can make sure of that...What you'll realise on arrival is that we're not going elitist, but I've locked the event down so numbers can actually fit the venue that's hosting it & importantly I keep out the people who don't know the style of our event & feel silly behaviour is part & parcel of a car meet. Factually the last event was as eclectic as could be, just ask anyone that was there, I'd argue it was one of the best to date yes

Agree 100% was a cracking meet, and a wonderful selection of cars. Not elitist in any way at all.

I know after speaking to a few people on the evening they really enjoyed it as i did, also not everyone can make meetings all the time so others get the chance to go as well

Was away in Scotland when this event was posted. Never got an e-mail to let me know whether I was one of the 80 though. frown
Even without the confirmation of the pics, I guessed the location as I have been to a PH meet there before.

Just looked it up: it was over 6 years ago! eek
