James, you forgot to sit the Miura! At least the wife has one up on you !
Nice to see you again, did you get the engine hatch clip riveted ok?
Damn it - favourite car of the weekend and I didn't take a seat in her! Sandra kept re-telling the story about how she had actually sat in there, much to her enjoyment.Nice to see you again, did you get the engine hatch clip riveted ok?
My friend only now thinks his hearing is returning after being near you when you fired her up, it's just obscene.
I did pop rivet it back on - on the Sunday but it pulled through again. The only real solution is going to be to open up the latch mount holes 1mm and put a larger rivet in with perhaps some form of bonding agent.
Dare I ask - will we see the Miura J on the UK roads again this year or has she flown home?

Sad news to hear that at this point in time the Council are weighing up the cost benefit of the festival running again. Seems they are worried that they were down 200,000 on last years attendance figures.
Perhaps running it the weekend after the bank holiday and on a Friday would explain why!
That and the weather. Friday's forecast was bad but it only really chucked it down for a short time around lunchtime, but it was probably enough to keep most people away. There were large sections of the barriers along the straight in the afternoon with very few spectators. I'm guessing Sunday was better but still subdued due to the weather. Having gone last year I thought it was a bit too similar so didn't enjoy as much, but that is the same with most events like this I guess.
The weather was pretty crap on Monday but I am sure there were still tons more people in Bournemouth spending money than would be on a normal wet sunday in May.
Problem is if the weather had been lovely, everyone would have wanted to be on the beach and moaning that the monster trucks were in the way..
I go to the airshow every year and that is a bit different because you can sit on the beach all day and watch the planes, but there is still the funfair etc.
They need the weather to be dry but not too hot. I hope they carry on, its like a mini festival of speed, but free and by the sea.

I got told off for speeding on Sunday. I felt bad but the crowd want to see and hear cars going fast. It's a difficult situation really. I drove on Friday and the morning of Sunday in the White GT3. I did plenty of full bore launches and the crowd loved it.
Saw you go off a few times in front of me and you were also were part of the convoy on Sat night I seem to remember? The GT3 looked great, as did the 997. Both sounded fantastic as I heard you coming into the turnaround point after the performance straight.Bart 124 said:

The Miura J , does come out on occasions... She was at Silverstone Classic last July, it is purely down to having time as the owner is very busy, so if I'm entrusted to do more things with her then maybe.. She has attended Salon Prive , goodwood etc. but you would most likely see her at a Lamborghini club event if anything..

Around 80, and just getting into her stride. We were warned to keep it 'around' 60mph, and that police were doing speed checks so that if we took the mickey they'd pull the event. Elf and safety mate.
We did see the speed trap, between start & 1st chicane, they where recording the speeds of each car, on each "circuit"456mgt said:

Dare I ask how fast you managed to get up to in third gear.

Elf and safety mate.Thwas great event, our club attended for the 1st time this year, had a great spot just past Boscombe pier and we had around 15 or so cars and the marshalls all very professional and polite and accommodating and gave us all plenty of room.
We will definitely be back next year for sure with hopefully 30+ cars.
Few shots of our club stand on the day.

Think there are a few different crowds at Bournemouth,
The Families looking for something to do,
The stag and Hen weekenders who have no interest in this event as they will be in the pubs.
The Locals wondering what's going on?
and of course the motoring enthusiasts who turn out whatever the weather.
I was told on the Sunday it was to continue for another couple of yrs, so no idea where this rumor is appearing from that it was a flop?
All I have heard is positive feedback.

Looked pretty packed to me on Saturday, enough to make getting around by the circuit a pain. Some nice cars, notably the Jota and F50, but the crowds are exhausting.
Thank you, thoroughly enjoyed bringing the Iota out for everyone to see and hear.F50 is such a awesome car an love the injection noise on the modern car... Carbs still do it for me though as you have so much fuel smell mmm
