Coventry Motofest 29th/30th/31st May 2015
Discussion
Anyone going?
I understand the events will not be timed as a race would be normally, as the legislation currently does not allow it.
It will be racing without a stopwatch then.

Was a really good day out, would highly recommend. This year is supposed to be bigger and better

I went! Surprised there isn't much in the way of activity on here about it...
I thought it was excellent! Wide range of cars, good atmosphere and free! What could be better?
Great to see the jag race cars, even the XJ13, D Type and XJ12 Le Mans cars all driven off in convoy (Imagine the insurance quote for that!)
Drifting and stock cars were all great to watch too and while there was a "no race" policy, the stock car drivers were going for gaps
Would be excellent to have a schedule of events next year, but well done to the organisers, great work!

I went on Saturday (and Sunday morning for a short while!), thought it was great as well. The drift cars really were great to watch, and it was very cool to see and hear the cars as they came shooting out of the tunnels.I thought it was excellent! I agree a schedule would be a definite improvement, but for free you really can't complain.
As stated above, we were there on the Saturday. The press claimed 100,000 visitors. Where we were stood towards the further end of the track I counted no more than 25 people on both sides of the road, so the other 99,975 must have all been crowding round the Start/Finish bit.
Luckily for us, it was clearly under-advertised. The drift cars were spectacular, especially the crazy orange Driftworks team. The classic car displays throughout the city were also great. Shame that the Transport Museum was still predominantly closed for refurbishment.
I have added some Jaguar Heritage photos to the Supercars Spotted thread in General Gassing if anyone's interested.
