Quite annoying?! It was a form of torture! I was hoping they'd turn it off when the racing started, but of no it went on all the time. I left after 3 "races"

Totally agree with the music, as soon as the races came on or the cars came out the music went up and couldn't really hear the cars.

Very fustrating and the same minute loop of music over and over even more so!

I'm going again tonight so hoping it won't be more of the same, I'd imagine it will be though.

Perhaps they were reading this as it was a lot better today if not absolutely freezing!

Yep we enjoyed it, so thanks to PH for the tickets, but it was bloody cold!

I still think the sound system drowned out most of the car sounds!

And the commentator who kept forgetting about times and names of drivers,,he was pretty hopeless too!

I enjoyed the racing but God there was so much other stuff that was poor.

Commentator always saying people were 2secs ahead after the first lap when clearly it was only half a lap. The music was loudest when the bloody f1 car came out so you literally couldn't hear it.

Food in the place was absolutely dire, 2 grotty burgers worse than McDonald's for £20 with a drink.

Again, glad my tickets were free, wonder how many people had paid, I can't see how they broke even.

Hmmmm....

I paid for two of us to go on Saturday.

Possibly the most tedious, ill-considered, poorly organised, dull event I've ever attended. Granted, it being so cold didn't help the atmosphere, but the tickets were extremely expensive for what turned out to be on offer (and we didn't get to choose where to sit - just allocated in a random block in the price range).

Couldn't really hear the cars, and wasn't surprised that thousands of people chose to leave as we did, after the F1 car did a few donuts.

It clearly hadn't occurred to the organisers that leaving a double-decker bus blocking the view would upset anyone, or the landing ramp for the bikes, both of which took an age to get moved. I saw a YouTube of the winner's podium this morning, which clearly showed MOST of the audience would have been looking at the back of a sponsor's screen, with the drivers on the other side facing the ultra-premium seats. Not good form chaps. So glad we didn't stay.

I still can't believe how much dead track time there was. Why? It should have been packed with action, from start to finish. How about having the electric ice-racing Twizys blatting round the same bit of track? Or karts? Plenty of other events manage it, and they aren't charging £165 for two, to see so very little.

Food? How can it be that the opportunity to flog decent food is just ignored? There were apparently 27000 people there on Saturday, and just a few pies, burgers and hotdogs for sale. Plus instant coffee. And you need to queue for 30 minutes to get some. Perhaps they've never been to Goodwood, or anywhere else for that matter.

There's not a chance I'd go again, even with free tickets.

Not sure where you went.

We queued for < 5 minutes for drinks and food on each occasion.

There was very little dead track time, except for the couple of car failures. The FMX guys couldn't do as much as they wanted because of the slippery track, otherwise it would have been even busier. Terry Grant did his best to entertain though.

The bus blocked the view of less than a quarter of the audience -- only those opposite the posh seats - and was moved fairly quickly.

Good for you. Everyone around us had the same problem getting food and drinks.

There was a vast amount of dead track time, before the heats started, and between the sessions. The FMX guys were dull - granted that's my opinion, but I really didn't want to see them once, let alone have them repeat the routine. Terry Grant's various contributions were probably the finest part of the whole event for me smile

"The bus blocked the view of around a quarter of the audience" - that's around 7000 people (at least by your reckoning), and it took well over an hour to get shifted. I'd say it blocked more people than that, and many were really annoyed about it. Easy to fix? Of course - they could have taken it away immediately after the drivers appeared. Not too difficult, except if the event is run by people who don't think.

I remain unconvinced - it was really expensive, there was no noise above the music, and frankly it was dull. I'd rather see 3 WEC races for the same money. A full day at Goodwood was cheaper, and considerably more entertaining.

I went to a low key race meeting at Silverstone a few weeks ago. £10 to get which in relative terms to this was a bargain.

You'd have to pay me to go back to this.

I think the size of the crowds also suggests it's not popular. I'd be very surprised if it's makes a come back next year.

Have to say I did enjoy the afternoon but it could have been so much better. The fact I was with a 12year old who had never been to anything remotely like this helped keep the day entertaining as he was excited and interested in what was going on & he had no other event to compare against.

Food : Poor offering but didn't queue where I was and the pie was nice (even if it was £5 !)
The bus : Agree that was somewhat thoughtless of the organisers !
Downtime : I have to say I didn't actually notice on the day but I do think they could have had "more" on show for the in-between bits
Atmosphere : Much "less" than I was expecting ... even given 27,000 in a stadium that can take more than twice that. On reflection I don't think the new track layout helped. Never seen it before but I think the direct head to head could provide more excitement for the crowd as it might be easier to gauge the relative positions of the cars...as it was, it was only the last 5 or 10 seconds of the race when it was possible to see how close it was going to be.....mind you ...it was VERY cold so getting the crowd heated up was always going to be a challenge !
Crowd : When booking the tickets I did think they were a little expensive (I paid ~£60/£30 for ours). Given the number of seats empty, you'd think they'd flog off the upper tiers for cheap just to build the atmosphere. Also not sure how well it was advertised to the general public in the build up 'v' the few days before.

I went on Friday and wasn't overly impressed, there was the potential there for a great event, but the organisation just seemed a bit amateur.

The ROC theme song played on loop was especially annoying.
