Brooklands are holding the American day on Sunday August 9
It's a static display of all sorts of American cars in all forms .
Entry also includes access to all museum exhibits. Usual catering facilities. More details on their website.

Hopefully I will be there.
Not used the car in a while but it could be a good excuse to get out in it driving

I am a volunteer Marshal there and other places. As ever you can't please all the people all the time but by posting out the various events that Brooklands hold it does inform everyone what's on .

I'm happy to visit Brooklands whenever I can and contribute to the running costs - what is the cost of not preserving our heritage?

As an events coordinator for a local car club, I know that sometimes no matter how much effort you put into an event and advertising said event, people just don't turn up. Quite a few of these Brooklands events rely on the related car clubs spreading the word and getting their members to turn up.

There also seems to be a lot more competition nowadays from other car shows and events, always seems to be two or three every weekend!

Brooklands aren't alone in not being very good at promoting events, Thruxton is my local circuit and hold a Revival meeting every Easter and the (public) attendance is woeful.

Keep plugging away Tony

Really enjoyed Brooklands today. Not been for at least a couple of years. I have a few pics on FB, only phone pics as I didn't take the camera. Mostly Mustang pics as requested by another PHer that couldn't make it.

Good day out - couldn't quite believe the dimensions of some of those cars.

A couple of pics from the day. The Buick Riviera '71 was outrageous
