What is the deal on walking in, if we don't make the list?
We'll speak to Honda and come back to you as it is their site / insurance / bacon budget etc!

100 spaces, really needs to be held at venues with significantly more room. Either that or the events need to be more regular than of late

100 spaces, hardly worth the organising.

Really need larger venues.

As JD said above,"Honda are keen for us to be there".

Quit moaning it's a FREE event.

PH don't HAVE to organise anything for us lot to do.

We usually hold one event per month, which we've done every month since I started on PH just over a year ago, the exception being July. This was both because we held three events in June and the venue we'd pencilled in for July had to pull out. Frankly we were all a bit spent so ended up with a month off from running an event. Sorry!

And as for larger venues, as mentioned we have a variety of venues booked for the remainder of the year (and even a couple lined up for next year). Some of these are big, some are small, but all we aim for is to make sure our members still have an opportunity to enjoy a variety of FUN and FREE events.

However, I'm always open to suggestions - If you know of any large automotive themed venues who would be happy to lend us their property on a Sunday morning for free then I'll happily do my best to organise an event there.

I hope to see many of you at Sunday Services soon

Thanks for your support. As mentioned we'll keep doing our best to deliver fun and free events for PHers... there is a rumour we may even be heading north of the Watford Gap services soon too!

Of course they are, it is a fantastic marketing opportunity for them. They get something too, it isn't just out of the goodness of their hearts! Hopefully there is a larger Sunday Service in the pipeline very soon.

Ditto with parking somewhere else and walk to venue.

Also it would be good if there is a way I don't have to check every other hour for new events before spaces are out...

How would that work then?

1. email sent out with the details instead = you check your email every other hour just in case a SS is announced, or

2. annoucement is made with the date and time of the reveal = PH crashes under demand

System is fine as it is. Sometimes you make it, sometimes you don't.

I was thinking on the line of having a set date of the month where the next event will be announced.

I don't know how much effort it would require, but you could set up a Staggered entry List..

For example, event with 200 spaces

First week of the month...

Monday 09:00 Release 50 Spaces
Tuesday 12:00 Release 50 Spaces
Wednesday 15:00 Release 25 Spaces
Thursday 18:00 Release 25 SPaces
Friday 12:00 Release Remaining 50 Spaces + Reserve List

That would help people who can't necessarily access PH at certain times of day etc...

But the current way is fine too smile

Just an idea smile

It would also help if people pulling out did so before Saturday night...there always seem to be huge numbers who pull out right at the last minute (which can be a bit of pain for getting the window badge etc.). Saying that, people who are on the list and don't turn up at all are worse.

Absolutely right!

Just so everyone is aware, the initial email with the windscreen pass etc was sent out yesterday afternoon (If you're on the list then check your inbox... and if you still can't find it check your Junk mail.... and if you STILL can't find it are you sure you're checking the email address that is linked to your account!)

Anyway, for those of you that are on the reserves list and are upgraded onto the main list due to people dropping out, we'll send the joining instructions around again on Friday PM. Any stragglers after that will be sent the instructions individually or can just chance their arm and turn up on the Sunday and plead with us at the gate whilst waving your mobile phone displaying the entry list*

  • Biscuits make this conversation run better!!!!
Cheers

Hi all

Hopefully all those lucky enough to secure a place on the list should have received a confirmation email, sent out yesterday. If you haven't, please check your Junk mailbox and Spam filters before contacting PH Towers.

For those of you who didn’t then, I hope you’re not disheartened as we are able to squeeze a few more of you in ‘unofficially’. However, this is under strict instructions that you do not park at Honda HQ and you do not cause an obstruction or inconvenience for those attending the meet and those living in the surrounding area.
Also, I would advise having breakfast en route as the catering is limited to the official number on the list only.

As the Red Bull Air race is being held at nearby Ascot Race Course on the same day, the roads leading into and around the surrounding area may experience high volumes of traffic so please read the below:

RED BULL AIR RACE 2015 ROAD AND HEATH CLOSURES

"Due to the requirement for a sterile flying area over the racecourse and golf course, the Winkfield Road from A322 to A329 will be closed between the Windsor Road (peanut roundabout) and New Mile Road junction. All Winkfield Road residents will still be able to exit Ascot via the High Street. New Mile Road will be closed heading towards the Winkfield Road junction, but residents will be able to exit via a diversion through Cheapside.

Flying hours, although still subject to minor alteration, are: Sunday 16th August 13.00 to 17.00

These road closures are for both vehicles and pedestrians and the Windsor Road will become a no stopping area during the above hours. There will be no access to the heath or the Royal Ascot Golf Club, which will be closed, during flying hours."
