Oundle Sprint?
Discussion
Hello - I have signed up for the Oundle Sprint on the 28th December... however on closer inspection there is a 20 mph speed limit and the course appears to be a left hand bend?
1. Anyone go last year?
2. Is it actually a sprint?
Will head along anyway to say hello to the place but it doesn't feel like race suit and helmet will be required!

Yes, you've got it right, totally different to last year.
It's now a "classic car show" with "demonstration runs" & the restrictions that you have mentioned .... & more. All normal road traffic regulations apply, & the centre of Oundle is a 20mph zone.
Also in 2014 non road legal cars were allowed to take part, but in 2015 they can only be parked up & part of the static display. Not even allowed any "demonstration runs", even though the "sprint route" is on a closed section of road.
Not for me this time.

I entered this event following my participation last year on the basis that after a mostly successful event last year that some of the restrictions would be lifted or relaxed this year as indicated. However as mentioned above the restrictions have actually turned out to be greater this time round!
However after hesitation I have decided to take part in full (if not just for something to do) and support the organisers, even though this is little more than a parade rather then the "sprint" as suggested in the title! The hope does again appear to be that another successful event will lead to a broader, more exciting spectacle next year, if this proves not to be the case then it will most likely be my last participation.
