EXCEL Classic Car Show 18-21 Feb 2016

I enjoyed it, and if you scratched the surface a little there were a lot of genuine car enthusiasts beneath some of the showy veneers of high brow sellers.
All of the cars on the Grand Avenue were pretty fantastic and aside from that the XJ13 display, the Aston Martin One-77, the Italian Job Miura, the Bentley's and the Mercedes Pullman's were the highlights for me.

My first time at anything on a large scale like this, and I thought it was great. Went on the Friday as I thought it would be less busy than the weekend. Some lovely cars on show, and I think my amateur photographer friend I brought along has become a petrol head as a result! The red e30 M3 Sport Evo in the car club side was gorgeous.
I think that M3 is like Marmite. The owner has without doubt put a lot of effort into it and it's obviously what they want. To me that's not what should be done to a car like that, I find the 'eyebrow' thing at the front particularly inappropriate. But hey, it takes all sorts and if everyone thought the same it would be a dull world.
It's surprising how even people that would consider themselves to be enthusiasts can show remarkably little respect for other peoples property.
