Please note this is a replacement thread for the earlier thread Annual Brighton Convoy & Meet Eevent May 29th 2016.....

This event will be taking place on 29th May 2016 - and will be on the Brighton seafront as usual.

It is a Jaguar EXCLUSIVE event, and I am working on gaining much more industry support than previously, and ensuring that everyone has a fantastic day to remember.

There will be a convoy on the morning from Pease Pottage Services to the seafront, with us all setting up camp in one huge parking block prior to a fantastic breakfast with a sea view, and the main meet with as much going on as I can pull together for us including a free raffle for a number of must-have goodies, industry reps (see Industry Attendees list below to see who will have reps onsite) for you to quiz with problems, discounts etc etc. Plus the usual Welcome Packs on the day with free samples, info etc etc.

If you would like to sign up for this event please just pop a post on the thread inc how many will likely be coming, and car details, and I will add you in, noting you can join just the main event, or the event and convoy. If you prefer, you are also very welcome to sign up by dropping a line to JaguarForumsUK@solidlinux.co.uk :-)

This event will be taking place on 29th May 2016 - with the main venue being Madiera Drive on the Brighton seafront as usual.

It is a Jaguar EXCLUSIVE event, and I am working on gaining much more industry support than previously, and ensuring that everyone has a fantastic day to remember.

The initial meeting point will be Pease Pottage Services, with an indoor area aset aside for us and 20% discount on anything from Costa (remember to say you are with the JaguarForums.com event to get your discount) to help get your day started. The Welcome Packs will be handed out at this point, and the main features of the day covered.

Then there will be a convoy down to the Brighton seafront creating a huge Jaguar statement with up to 100 cars, all setting up camp in one huge parking block in Madiera Drive.

There will be a fixed price breakfast laid on for attendees on arrival in Brighton, at a cost of £4.99 for the recommended (two of everything :-)) breakfast, plus drinks at individual prices or £2.60 for unlimited drinks. We are booked in the Harvester in Madiera Drive - remember to say you are with the JaguarForumns.com event when ordering.

The only other cost for the day is the parking which is likely to be £3.20 for one hour, £5.20 for 2 hours, £10.40 for 4 hours or £15.60 for 11 hours (Brighton Council are reviewing the rates in April though ).

CaptainHam has suggested setting up & using the pay by phone parking app on your phone prior to the day (saves fishing around in pockets for change, or in this case, notes)

The main meet will follow on from then with as much going on as I can pull together for us including a free prize draw for a number of must-have goodies, industry reps (see Industry Attendees list below to see who will have reps onsite) for you to quiz with problems, discounts etc etc. Not forgetting that this is your chance to meet up with all the people you know online, maybe advise them on any issues you have solved or figured and for others to help you out with any issues and to check out up to 100 Jaguars including the new Jaguar F-Pace AWD!!

OK, quite a bit has been happening this week, and it is only Tuesday so here is a quick summary of where we are at this moment in time..

We now have 45 Jaguars and 71 attendees, 12 official event sponsors, not one but two confirmed venues, fixed price breakfast booked, the parking charges are now known, We have discount codes, freebies, free prize draw, three companies onsite to meet everyone and answer all and any questions, banner signing for posterity, photo shoots by an event photographer professional, and EVEN 20% off your drinks at the first venue :-)

We still need to see if we can achieve our target of 100 Jaguars, finalise accomodation arrangements for those travelling some distance to attend, follow up any last sponsorship leads etc., finish producing the Welcome Pack info, and we will be almost there :-)

Hi Qwerty21,

It would be great to have you and your Daimler along and very happy to add you to the list of attendees.. Do you want to attend both the convoy and meet or just the main meet and what year is your Daimler?

Very best regards
steve

OK, I am still not getting any results regarding accomodation, well not results that I am looking for :-( so I apologise for that - I will keep working on it, but maybe need to vary my method..

Meanwhile however there is one establishment that is well placed for Crawley Town Centre, has very easy access to our event start point, and is easy to locate when travelling to it:

Holiday Inn Express
The Squareabout
Haslett Avenue East,
CRAWLEY, RH10 1UA
ENGLAND, UK
Email: reception@hiexpresscrawley.co.uk
Phone: +44 (0)1293 525 523

If I do manage to get a response I am looking for (ie an event attendee discount), from any of the hotels best placed/priced for us I will let you guys know, but have to admit I have given up holding my breath for the moment.

OK we have an accomodation deal, exclusive to our event, for any attendees travelling some distance to attend, courtesy of Holiday Inn Express...

The address & contact details are as below:

Holiday Inn Express
The Squareabout
Haslett Avenue East,
CRAWLEY, RH10 1UA
ENGLAND, UK
Email: reception@hiexpresscrawley.co.uk
Phone: +44 (0)1293 525 523

We (as an event) have requested 10 rooms to be reserved for us at a discounted rate for the Friday & Saturday night. The rooms would normally cost in the range of £59 - £65 per night but have been reduced to a fixed price of £54 a night for us. This does include breakfast if wanted, free wi-fi, and parking.

It will take them a day or so to set this up for us, but if you want to take advantage of this offer please email them, or call them quoting that you are with the 'JaguarForums.com event'. You will need to provide credit or debit card details to guarantee your booking.

The rooms will be reserved exclusively for attendees to book until the end of April..

Plus, if you want to make a weekend of it, we have teamed up with HolidayInn Express in Crawley and have a fixed discounted rate of £54 a night for attendees, plus guaranteed availability of rooms for us :-) please see their details below, or follow this link HolidayInn Express Crawley.

I think we have almost everything in place now :-) We have discounted accomodation with guaranteed availability, not one but two official venues, Harwoods Jaguar, The Automatic Gearbox Centre & Ultimo lubricants attending to answer all and any questions, Harwoods will be bringing an F-Pace AWD for us to see, we have some great prize draw prizes for a free prize draw, discounts on everything from coffee and tea through to everything you need to look after your Jaguar. Our breakfast by the sea is fixed price, we even know the parking costs!

If you have not signed up for this great day out for you, your Jag, and your family yet - there is no better time to make that choice and sign up to come along!

I am currently working on one surprise attendee (a car, not a person) and if I can encourage them to come and join us this year I can guarantee you will find them a massive talking point on the day :-)

So go on treat yourself - the event is free to sign up for, free to attend (apart for parking & breakfast), has a free prize draw and is a great social event in the Jaguar calendar!

Thanks QWERTY21 I have updated the thread with your info and it will filter through shortly

Meanwhile I have not split the models into generations but have a rough guide as to how our list of attending Jaguars breaks down currently:

We have cars covering production from 1976 through to 2016

Daimler V12 x 1
F-Type x 3
S-Type x 12
XE = 1
XF x 1
XFR = 1
XFR x 1
XJ = 4
XJC = 1
XJR = 4
XJS = 3
XJ8 = 4
XK = 2
XK8 = 3
XKR = 4
X-Type = 3

Apologies for any errors - interestingly this year the S-Type seems to be the most prominent :-)

OK, as of just now we are officially covering 50 years of Jaguar production at our event!! Everything from a 1966 E-Type to a 1974 XJ Coupe right through to a Harwoods Jaguar showroom AWD F-Pace!!

On top of this there is still a few possible event additions and surprises I am working on and hoping will come together for the day!!

Anyone undecided on the day - please, please sign up for what is genuinely set to be a fantastic day for everyone.

Please keep an eye on our forum thread, or our Twitter feed @JFBrightonMeets #MayJagMeet or our Facebook page www.facebook.com/JaguarForumsUK for the latest news as it develops!

Just remember to quote that you are with the 'JaguarForums.com' event to get guaranteed avalability and the fixed discounted rate of £54 a night.
