is the south east gathering still happening, does not seem to be any mention on here recently ????
Yes it will be...Just depending on venue currently. From what I can see the likelyhood is it will need to be held at a smaller venue, limited numbers based on first come first serve as the event is too big for most pubs car park capacity wise, & because we don't charge to run it...Too small to jump to a larger venue that can handle 200/250/300+ cars (& I don't particularly want to have to charge people anything to enjoy an evening of cars).

Standby smile

Will there be a pre-Le Mans South East gathering ? So many people travel via the south coast ports, could be a consecutive 3 or 4 day event ?

Appreciate the replies saying this meeting will be on but we are now in may and no mention they were Ok last year at Botley Hill, better the year before down at Redhill aerodrome and also pretty good down at the grasshopper, if a note could go up as soon as there is a meet so we know

Agreed, I think of all the venues so far (Grasshopper, the aerodrome, Botley, and the Smith & Western pub it all started at), the Botley one has been the best - not too big, nice venue, good behaviour, good facilities, nice local roads, and a really nice mix. Grasshopper encouraged flybys and unwanted attention, and the aerodrome was a bit fragmented with several car parks.

Agreed, The Grasshopper was a great meet but spoilt by some.

Botley was a lovely meet with a good mix of cars and good behaviour. Whilst i like seeing cars doing burnouts and power slides etc, there is a time and a place for that ;-)

Has anyone approached the Jolly farmer pub where the hold the old stool Ford meets. Massive car park and friendly landlord

Umair (Ironic Twist) is a busy man.
Nothing to stop any of you guys organising a meeting, is there?

I used to. I did the first Botley Farm PH event which Umair attended, and also many at the Grasshopper way before PH. But Umair has some great connections and took it to another level. I would gladly help him if he asks for help, but he was doing fine 👍

Hi, can someone tell me whether the breakfast clubs still happen and where? Haven't been to anything since the red hill aerodrome meets. Thanks

Has anybody spoken to Umair about these meets? Are they officially over? If so it is a real shame as they were by far the best car meets I have been to - not too big, eclectic, and impromptu Tuesday evenings was so much better than driving to MB world or McLaren for a massive organised thing, all imho.

Anybody else feel like taking over the mantle?

I take it that there are no south east meets happening 2016 as we have not seen notification of any and this thread seems to die a death !

There will be...Still here wavey Just been very pre occupied. Date will come up soon...Issue has been a) Lacking time b) Lacking a venue. Botley Hill insist my event is too big to handle on a weeknight along with their normal diners/trade, so I have another location in mind with a petrolhead landlord. Keep fingers crossed smile

What a shame, Botley was a lovely venue. Good to hear there'll be a new one soon though!
