Please ensure you do this before tomorrow if you're not going to make it - the joining instructions go out tomorrow, plus people need time to organise their weekend.
Nothing annoys me more than people who pull out on the Friday or Saturday before the event!!!
In fact, it annoys me that so many people put their names down and then don't turn up full stop. We're getting and increasingly big disparity between the number of people who turn up and the number of people on the list, which is really unfair when there are so many people on the reserves list.
So from now on we're going to be taking a register at the gate and non-attending members will have the ability to sign up to events removed from their profile. This will undoubtedly cause a queue to get in, but it is the only way we can solve this issue as too many people are being selfish.
The register we take will be a freeze-frame of the attendance list at 9am on a Friday morning... So in other words if people haven't removed their names by then and don't turn up then they will no longer be able to attend events. After a few events like this we'll be getting strict and will be moving this deadline to Thursday and eventually Wednesday.
I hope that this makes sense, but please let me know of you have any questions. Please keep in mind that we are only doing this to allow more people to attend the events we work hard to organise.
Thanks
JD
But what happens if the weather is really bad, or you can't make it because you have a blowout, or something important comes up after the Friday morning deadline, would you still banned from attending further events then?Nothing annoys me more than people who pull out on the Friday or Saturday before the event!!!

Hi Ollie
At a SS like this which is based at the site of a Brand/Manufacturer and the parking is an easily accessible area, can there be a parking area for Mercedes and AMG's nearest the building so they can displayed together. Easily done as it's just cones on the tarmac and a quick count of Mercedes / AMG cars can be done from the list on Friday?
Then if you are particularly interested in the featured Marque you don't miss anything and if you're not you can walk on past!
AFAIK,PH never do this.At a SS like this which is based at the site of a Brand/Manufacturer and the parking is an easily accessible area, can there be a parking area for Mercedes and AMG's nearest the building so they can displayed together. We're all equal, whether you turn up in a McLaren,Mercedes or Mini.

I went a good few years ago to the brook lands museum. Well worth a look around You could walk up the old embankment back then. Don't know if you still can
You still can. Brooklands is good when there is an event on but otherwise generally quite quiet. You could see/read nearly everything in a half day easily.-Michael- said:

Wear a coat if it rains. Use a spare tire. It really isn't very difficult.-Michael- said:

How about thick fog like there was a couple weeks ago, and say you have a breakdown on the way then and simply cant get there.. Personally I think it is very sensible idea, and with a bit of common sense I doubt it will hurt anyone.

TBH. I have organised meets/events before and it is very annoying when people don't turn up when they say they do.Then come up with stupid excuses like "forgot it was the girlfriends nephews sisters birthday" or some other crappy excuse.

I get the need for a bit of a crack down, but I get your point. There is no point in going if it is hammering down with rain. Surely someone can just sign up with a new username if they get banned? AMG parking area gets my vote by the way
What time does this start? I can see this being chaos with so many cars arriving and a tick list!

Yes. And quite rightly too.
Pretty sure we have arranged stuff and you've cancelled last minute. Why the eyes Michael? For every genuine excuse, there'll be 10 fabricated excuses by people who can't be bothered when Sunday morning arrives; with it being unrealistic for PH to evaluate who actually has a misfire versus who is just a bit too comfortable in bed. Therefore, if PH are going to police attendance, the only way to do it properly is by having a zero tolerance approach and for those who fall foul of the rule to suck it up.
