Great day out indeed!

I was planning on running my car on the strip, but the day before it decided it didn't need coolant and spat it out...

Fortunately not active leaking after topping it up, so still managed to get there in a full little convoy with 2 local mates in their Griffs and car is now booked into my local Jag indie.

I did take pictures of pretty much every car i saw, but i've already seen albums with much better qualify photo's come past so i won't upload them all, apart from a few of my favorites, and some from the actual strip :

Took these thinking "i recognise that smart from the owners thread on the forum!" biggrin

Very enjoyable day indeed driving

Nobody took a picture of my Saab! Maybe they're unhappy that a big, boring saloon did a 14.2?

I thought the surface was very good as I got none of the usual wheel spin in second and no clutch slip in third. Sorry 330d owner, hope you're feeling better now.

If it helps I'd actually pointed your motor out to the lady I'd brought along and we both said "that's spot on that is", it seems we both have rather excellent taste in tuned Saabage.

Cheers. I think you maybe just visible in that picture of my rear view side mirror, behind the lambo and something white.

Great photos by everyone, will keep desktop background changing for a while.

Will definitely go down the strip next time, just needed a helmet and something else which I didn't have.

My mate took a load of photos, will upload them when I get them.

Saw you gun the jag heading up towards the back empty tarmac area - sounded the nuts. Very cool.

I saw that run at the end of the day - I would have liked to have trialled my Mazda against the Volvo - just about got ahead of the EOS on the first go; the second run wasn't as close as the VW bogged down. Same bhp (160) but the VW has more torque more of the time, being forced induction (240Nm from 1800rpm plays 188Nm at 5000rpm).
I suspect that you'd have had the volvo too, your lack of weight and increased bhp would have seen to that I'm sure ! Proves the point though you didn't need rocket ships to have fun. I was in the e46 330d but took my friends volvo down for a couple and the neck and neck one was so much fun!

Great pics everyone smile

Here's some more from me this time of the track action. Tried to get a picture of every car however I am still learning to use my camera so if I have missed your car out its probably because it came out blurry frown

Nice action shot of my MR2 and MasterBean's Saab:

I think RWD, mid engine and weight transfer must have helped me off the line, but being about 100bhp down there was only going to be one result.
