Japfest 2016 - Did you go?
Discussion
Hello all, had a great day at Japfest yesterday, although as a photographer, super tiring and my legs are shagged after kneeling down all day. Did anybody go? Have a look through my albums and say hello if I have a pic of your car!

It's a shame they moved it from Castle Combe, went there every year for 11 years (missed last year) and I won't be going to silverstone.
It had outgrown Combe unfortunately though, I remember the first year I went, drove straight in and parked trackside by Camp corner (on dean straight) then just walking over the bridge to the show. All changed by the end though, hours of queueing to get in, crap parking etc.
Looks like a good show! NSX looks ace. Any EP3 civics?

Hundreds of EP3's Got this one of a fellas daughter polishing his alloys which he was chuffed with, and in turn I was chuffed
I do agree it's a shame they moved it, BUT to their credit, there was absolutely no traffic, in or out, and I arrived and got parked immediately at 9am. And the place was packed out. The weather was a downer, but the cars and people make it.

If you like 300zx's, you'll love this one. My favourite by far. Seen at Stancism in Essex last year. Owner is a top chap.

Really? I was stuck in a 30 minute queue on the A43 at 7:30!I do agree it's a shame they moved it, BUT to their credit, there was absolutely no traffic, in or out, and I arrived and got parked immediately at 9am. I'm going to the replacement event at Combe at the same time in May that Japfest used to be before it was moved to Silverstone - http://www.japday.co.uk/
Half the fun is watching the track action and people getting Camp and Quarry all wrong. The banking around the outside of the circuit makes it a much better venue for spectators. The trick to getting in at Combe in recent years has been making sure you get there really early as the local B road is the only route in and can't cope with a large volume of traffic.

I may be going but only if i an get a passenger to split cost with me, as it's a decent drive. You're right about the circuit though, i'm looking forward to it.I'm going to the replacement event at Combe at the same time in May that Japfest used to be before it was moved to Silverstone - http://www.japday.co.uk/

I can't see anything on the website about individual displays though, for people who want to show off their car but not on a stand?
Yes, I went.
Couple of track vids:
Superb driving from conan@rx-8 taking a few much quicker cars:

Me - pottling in comparison, and talking to my passenger like I know what I'm doing ;-)

My photos not up to standard, not worth posing.

If you don't have a stand pass* you'll be shunted into the public parking area.
* We have 20 cars going atm.

RD, typical. Forever stuck with the peasants
If you don't find anyone to split the cost with I have a spare seat available in my chariot. You'll have to get up very early though to be with the privileged ones...
Let me know if you're interested (preferably by PM on MR20C or IMOC).

I don't have anyone to share with yet. But it's also looking like I won't be able to get the day off work. It was quiet before but we've taken lots of last minute bookings so it depends if I can find cover. Hey ho, I really appreciate the offer though, and will let you know ASAP if I can take you up on it! You'll have to get up very early though to be with the privileged ones...

It's better for it - more tarmac'ed areas for clubs stands, better facilities, much better access. I thought it was better overall than last years show at Combe!SonicShadow said:
