Another good SS, many thanks to the PH team and especially to Skoda who had obviously put in a lot of effort for the event.

Despite the GT6 blowing its radiator it made it back home on one piece (even if I did have to stop twice to top it up). Thanks to everyone who came and had a chat with suggestions on how to fix it. In the end I didn't need to try the egg white method biggrin.

I'd like to echo the thanks to PH and Skoda. Great venue. The Skoda 'marshals' and 'catering staff' we're really friendly.
Until today I didn't know the Skoda 1100 existed. What a lovely thing.
I was very pleased to see the Triumph GT6 arrive. Hopefully they found a solution to the waterspout emitting from the radiator.
The thing that impressed me most was the Tesla 'ludicrous mode'. Watching the YouTube videos doesn't prepare you for the reality of seeing it in action. Before he left for the day the owner was kind enough to offer a demonstration from onboard. Bloody 'ell it's quick!!! I'm in no hurry to give up on the internal combustion engine, but can't deny the effectiveness of Tesla's technology.

Edit: just seen the post from the GT6 owner. Glad you made it home.

Thanks V8RX7 and Spudlink, it was me with the Tesla.

Great, relaxed day. My first PH meet (and post for that matter!)

Nice friendly bunch, no silliness (I missed the doughnuts thing), But some great sounding motors as people left. One of the things I miss with mine smile

Was good to see the new Superb Estate L&K there which I am seriously considering as my next daily driver, even more so now, I thought it looked great!
I thought that as well, very smart. Would go nicely with the 280 engine and 4 wheel drive!

To echo the other comments, great morning thanks PH and Skoda!

That's a real shame.

It's the Eastern Bloc Vehicles Rally next weekend, I was hoping to get there in the Trabi, but stuff has conspired against me. I love a good old Skoda / Lada / FSO etc.

As others have said many thanks to Pistonheads and Skoda for organising.
We had to tie in with the baby's feed so did not arrive until later but there were still quite a few cars to see.

I was wondering if Skoda would have noticed if a white vRS estate disappeared and my blue 1.4T estate appeared in it's place wink lol

The location was really interesting. We are usually nosing around WW2 stuff, so it was good to see a more modern base.

Ive also had to withdraw too sadly!

Having just woken up from a very late and heavy drinking BBQ birthday party last night, I'm in no fit state to drive my Caterham to Bicester!

Again sorry for the short notice, but I suspect I would still be over the limit, so better safe than sorry, plus I don't feel to clever at all!
Would be quite frustrating if people did this for an over-subscribed event.

Ha yeah that was us in the Primer Audi - we were having a smile at your speed bump manoeuvressmile

Hope it wasn't too expensive at Bicester Village! Some of the GT86OC boys and girls are at Millbrook today for some CAT training I gather. Good day for it weather much better over this way.
Haha yeah I winced at some of the speed bumps having to approach them sideways. Eibach lied when they said lowering 25/20mm was fine everywhere! laugh

You see, THIS is why my Zenos has the "awkward looking" ride hight. I know it looks cool to have a car that hugs the tarmac like a ground effect F1 car, but driving almost anywhere in 21st century Britain will require navigating speed humps at some point.

Thanks - it was great to meet you, and thanks for the pictures of my Mazda leaving! To my shame, it is crying out for a wash and polish after a navigational rally. Your 86 only further fuelled my desire to have one in the future - but perhaps not quite as low!

We thought it was a great Sunday Service. As everyone is saying on here, Skoda had clearly put some thought and effort into their hosting duties and the free coffee and ice cream were winners.

As for the PH snob who posted "Skoda isn't interesting" on here earlier, well, their stunning little 1950's race car certainly was. I vaguely knew that Skoda had built some racing stuff back in the day but I'd never seen that car before.

The other benefit of having a smaller crowd at the SS is that it's easier to find the PH owner of an interesting car that you'd like to ask some questions about.

My thanks to the Tesla owner; I'm sure I wasn't the only one who took up some of his time while I quizzed him re what's life like with a fully electric car.

Similarly, a few folks asked about life with the XK Coupe and I hope I answered everything. That's surely how an SS is supposed to work; I get the opportunity to learn from you, you might from me.

Keep it up PH and ignore the moaners. This was a very good new host and new venue. Skoda deserved more support from us and I hope they'll get it next time.

You're more than welcome, Andy smile Great to see the open-mindedness of you guys considering you're probably more at the extreme die-hard petrolheaded folk out there. Next time, I'll have to see what that Cobra was like wink

Do you think the turn out would have been if it had been called the "Porsche Group company PH SS'?
