Beaulieu Supercar weekend August 20/21

Who needs Monterey when you have Beaulieu?

You will have noticed a lot of news on PH recently around Monterey Car Week, and very nice it looks too. But it's not exactly realistic for us all to be in California for those seven days. So if you are in the UK towards this Saturday and Sunday, might we suggest the Beaulieu Supercar Weekend?

The main attraction is a display of more than 350 supercars, but there's plenty more besides. There are collections dedicated to Murray Walker and Aston Martin, supercar parades and a stunt team led by Paul Swift.

On top of those, Beaulieu will play host to a Lamborghini collection, marking 100 years since the birth of Ferruccio Lamborghini. If you've not seen any of the icons up close before, they really are spectacular. Fingers crossed for an early Countach... The supercar history will be brought right up to date with the three hybrid hypercars also in attendance.

A particularly interesting attraction should be the 'Supercar to Racecar' collection, featuring "homologation specials to GT class dominators". And, well, they're leading with a picture of a roadgoing McLaren F1 LM, which is worth seeing on its own.

So it looks like being a great weekend. The tickets also get you into the other Beaulieu attractions, just in case you need to see more cars. Or you want to look at the palace gardens. Tickets start at £19 for an adult in advance, which is much cheaper than getting to America. Let's hope it's sunny!
