Anyone been? It's 15 mins from new house (having moved from London and not having heard of it before) and considering going. have been to a few shows like this that turn out to be pretty disappointing so interested in people's thoughts? Worthwhile?

If you've never been to Sywell before and its only 15mins away from your new house, I would thoroughly recommend going on a sunny day for lunch and sit outside.

There is an art deco bar/lounge there and it is a really nice place. I went on Tuesday and was treated to a spitfire taking off, doing a fly around and coming back in to land, various bi-planes etc, whilst enjoying lunch and a pint.

The outside seating area for the bar looks out to the air field and strip.

ive not been to the classic event there though as ive only been in the area 8months or so. I do plan on going to it this year though.

I went last year and enjoyed it. I am into my cars (obviously) but I was surprised to find there were car clubs there for makes of cars I had never even heard of, which made it interesting.

I've been to all the Sywell Pistons and Props and it's a great event. If you can blag your way in with a car club that'd be better as it's only £5 for the weekend if you're showing a car. Good selection of car clubs, good air show, Great Party Saturday night. The Racing runway is fun, the dragsters are loud, auto jumble quite good, no real downsides unless the weather lets you down.
