"Icons by the Lake" Virginia Water Lake - Sun 16th October
Discussion
Due to the huge success of our debut "Icons by the Lake" Supercar Coffee morning, we have confirmed dates for the next 12 months.
We have been given the opportunity to have exclusive use of a large part of the North Car Park @ Virginia Water Lake, GU25 4QF.
We are having to limit the Supercar attendance to 300 cars, and our own display area will be clearly coned off for our use. This meet is purely an informal, friendly, safe static meet. No dangerous driving will be tolerated. Children & pets DO use the facility & WILL be in the car park.
This is a Supercar/Hypercar meet, therefore we request that modified Fiesta's don't try to enter the car park. We can NOT over attend, we MUST remain in our dedicated area allowing for the remaining half to be used by the public who are visiting the lake. People attending in non-Supercars & taking spaces up in the public side will simply lead to the events being cancelled very quickly.
The aim is for all Supercars to have ample space for imaginative parking, ideal for people wanting to have a good look at the cars, this will also allow for brilliant photos etc, there will be no dog walkers cars sitting between our F40's & GT3's.
Please do pop your name & car down, we really would like some serious metal in attendance.
We already have some big cars confirmed, a P1 GTR for example, so it shouldn't take too long to gather momentum.
The event does have its own FB & Insta presence.

Nice bit of snobbery there. Basically, if you aren't rich and don't have an expensive sports car then you can just fk off and go shopping in PoundLand this particular morning.
It's a Supercar Coffee Morning, but essentially, yes, if you don't have a supercar, don't expect to be parking with the supercars. Not snobbery just event rules imho.Nice bit of snobbery there. So Joe Public, who happens to drives modified Fiesta, can't park in the public car park that day to walk his dog?
If it was a Golf MK2 Coffee morning (great looking car by the way) I wouldn’t want to park my car in the middle of them. Or a classic car meet for that matter. It takes away from the intent of the meet, which is to get together a specific group of cars so that "everyone" can enjoy them. It has nothing to do with how much money you have, it's just the type of car for that specific meet up. You don’t have to go if you don’t agree. Isn't the confusion here that the organisers are asking people attending the event in non-supercars *not* to part in the public car park (as well as obviously not in the event section)? I understand the source of this fear; if the event is mobbed by say 300 spectators, there won't be any public spaces left for people who just want to visit Virginia Water, which could result in cancellation of future events.
There are so many problems with that statement I almost don't know where to start. If I turn up in my 996 Turbo, it isn't really a supercar, but parked in the public bit you might assume I'm a petrolhead attending the event and thus exceeding the 300 car limit. But if I come along in the family SUV, who's to know why I'm there, other than a vague worry that the car park is busier than usual? If the intent is to make this an exclusive event only for supercar owners, and spectators aren't encouraged, then why hold it somewhere so public? If that isn't the case, just accept that there will be spectators, and they'll drive whatever they like and will park with the rest of the public.
Maybe the edict should actually be: "if you haven't got a place in the 300, don't turn up in your Lamborghini Miura and park it next to the Range Rovers and Dacias in the public bit, as it makes us look like we're taking the p*ss with the space limit"?
Or perhaps I've got the wrong end of the stick entirely...

That's how I was reading it. Does seem a bit bizarre to hold an event in a public car park but then suggest people don't turn up to have a look! There are so many problems with that statement I almost don't know where to start.
